bring back 15 round fights

Like someone else in the thread, I heard it was due to the death of Duk-Koo Kim. What is odd about this, however, is that 15 round fights continued well beyond 1982. Tyson vs Tucker was scheduled for 15 rounds but was reduced to 12 only a day or 2 before.

Perhaps regular fights should be 12 rounds and title fights 15. 10-round fights always feel too short.

Ahhh.wrong.It was Leonard who insisted on 12 rounds,10 oz gloves, and the larger 20 X ring instead of a traditional 16-18.

I'd like to see 15 rounds you get more for your money but its obvious alot of the greats have suffered worse after boxing. Alot of the fighters of old look proper brokedown though there are still fighters who still have it bad who fought for 12 e.g james toney but his only form of training was sparring

Kim died due to the punishment he sustained during the bout. If it was a 12 rounder it would have been a different story. Id not mistaken that was the last 15 rounder bout.

Yeah I would love to have seen Banks - Mitchell 2 for another 3 rounds. With every great fight there are 10 stinkers and I certainly could not be bothered watching them go 15 rounds. 15 rounds is a bad idea for many many reasons. 12 is fine, no issue with 12 at all.

The 12 rounders are BORING enough if you add rounds it will get worse!
When do you see tired fighters at the end of a fight???
Imagine Hopkins or Mayweather or Sergio in 15 round fights!!!
Hell we'll be washing the windows and polishing cars during the fights!!!

ring sizes, 16s were never used, the smallest I know of would be an Everlast 22 with longer turnbukles that made it a 17'9" inside!

The largest would be a 24square inside!

mancini killed kim in the ring on a major TV network. mancini was a very popular fighter at the time.
