Sure it is not impossible that if Floyd gets hurt he doesn't escape but also it is not like Floyd hasn't been stung several times and most of those times he was coming back before the round even ended.

So I don't see why a guy who has proven capabilities like that would be done for if he got caught, Mayweather ain't Khan~
I just don't see Lucas letting him get off the hook. Of course Floyd's defensive capabilities are probably enhanced when he's in pure survival mode, but Mosley caught him with another right hand after he had him hurt the first time also. More of a gut feeling, but I feel like Lucas would finish him if he got him that hurt.

I'm more concerned about actually catching Floyd period. He's not going to win a decision over Floyd. He NEEDS to land the big shot to win.

Words are cheap and Zab won that fight so why wouldn't he say that to make himself look better~, if you are hanging your hat on thoughts like that you are walking on thin ice. Also Zab was able to escape a round where he got hurt and Zab is not known for his ability to cope.

As for Peterson, he isn't as tough (a guy who has not really been down from a punch) or as crafty as Mayweather so you have to bring more than that to the party.

He might try to not let him off the hook but that doesn't mean he will finish the job. Yea Mosley hit him again and Floyd was still straight 30 seconds after putting it on Mosley, I don't think that says Floyd is easy to finish I would say that is the exact opposite.

I do think he would catch him, it is a fight after all and Lucas is very good I just don't think that spells certain doom for Mayweather should that happen.

I see where you're coming from. Floyd could catch Lucas' with a counter in Matthysse's eagerness to end the fight and change things too. It is boxing after all.

It may not mean certain doom, but Floyd is gonna defending and shoulder rolling for his dear life if Matthysse puts him on ***** Street. And I don't think Matthysse is gonna hurt him and then look timid the rest of the night either. Mosley looked almost intimidated that Floyd didn't go down after the 2nd round.

Well when you hit a guy with your best shot and then hit him with another stiff one right after and he is back catching you 30 seconds later it is demoralizing. Especially a guy that is tricky to catch in the first place, when you know your best isn't good enough what else is there.

Now Mosley was always doomed for that to happen, Lucas may be able to fight through that much better but catching Floyd one time is tricky catching him again with the same idea has yet to be done and Lucas is not exactly a throw caution to the wind guy he is powerful and tough but he is also methodical and thoughtful.

Also, Lucas is a big puncher, but I'm not calling him a bigger hitter at 147 than Mosley.

Let's see how the power translates before calling Lucas a one punch destroyer at 147. Devon and Zab both took some clean shots along the way and were fine. Lucas has obviously made improvements, but power is the same...not to mention Mayweather is 10x better than anyone he' fought, landing over and over? Forget about it.

Lucas is not a magical puncher. He comes at you like Tyson...swinging from the heels in a barrage. The ferocity overwhelms you.

Mosley loses confidence in himself and his abilities quickly now, he gives up if you can take his power and keep coming, not sure if it's age or realization he can't win.

Hitting Floyd flush and hard is a huge task, and it would take setting up your shots, not just throwing for the sake of throwing, ala Ortiz. Matthysse sets up his combos well, with throw away shots to set up the big one, like Golovkin.

That isn't a new thing for Mosley, it has been like that since the Forrest fights. It was why I thought Mosley couldn't win that fight. Mosley is tough but he get frustrated when he can't get stuff done like he wants and Mayweather's style is a style of frustrating his opponent.

Like I said I think Matthysse would hit Floyd with some good shots I value his talent, I just think in the amount Floyd would get hit he could handle them. Lucas has skills but he is basic (which isn't exactly a bad thing against most guys) once he gets figured out I don't know where he would go

My only answer to this is, that's why they fight the fights. Hopefully after Mayweather schools Canelo and Matthysse stops Garcia, we'll get this fight next Cinco de Mayo.
