What I don't understand is why people automatically assume Matthysse's power is going to carry up at 147?

Matthysse is completely unproven at the weight in every respect. Weight classes do matter.

If Lucas can get a top 147lb fighter out of there like he did Peterson then I'll be on board with him beating Mayweather, but not before.

I disagree, it is not impossible to catch him as it is a fight after all but Floyd is a very crafty guy when he gets hurt and it is not like he is exactly easy to hurt either or he would have been hurt more in his career.

Hurting Maywether is only the start of the process and has been done but finishing the process is another matter entirely and I don't think you are giving due to the actual difficulty of that task.

Matthysse also ain't Julian Jackson he can crack but he isn't that devastating~

Well it could be a tough fight no denying that, but what I was referring to was the first part. Sure it is not impossible that if Floyd gets hurt he doesn't escape but also it is not like Floyd hasn't been stung several times and most of those times he was coming back before the round even ended.

So I don't see why a guy who has proven capabilities like that would be done for if he got caught, Mayweather ain't Khan~
