Even old mike (95-96) would have beaten a prime vitali.

Don't get me wrong, he has held a respectable reign and has an excellent (stats) record but you cant say he has been the best in the last 25 years. No chance.
Do your home work boy. Go watch some of Vitaliīs fights before his injuries - Hide, Donald, Lewis, Johnson, Sanders - and think again. No version of Mike would stand a chance, even though he probably was the second most exciting HW champ ever. And when it comes to the Brits favourite fight: Lewis certainly wasnīt in the best possible shape but it was Vitali who took the fight on short notice (less than two weeks, correct me if Iīm wrong). But yes, a cut is a cut and itīs a TKO loss. And of course you can stick to your opinion as no one can really prove you wrong..

Better than Tyson, who was shown to not be the best fighter of his era, and even Holmes, who had more title defenses, but was not remotely as dominant in his wins as VK and was beaten far less controversially than VK in his losses.

Anyway, while unlike moronic, biased haters like this guy, I do respect his dominance and accomplishments, I am rather annoyed at VK. Its getting on to a year since his last defense, the purse bid on Stiverne was supposed to be more than a month ago, and he should have made up his mind already. He needs to have a freakin fight or retire and let someone else have a crack at the title.
Be careful, man. Vitali's resume isn't all that.

He's definitely a great fighter, though; I respect that. He went life and death with Lennox in a classic.

I hope he fights one of the 'contenders' in a farewell fight. He shouldn't give Haye a pay day.

You dont think Foreman, Liston, Iron Mike, Frazier even Wlad, could of beaten him?
Do you even know what ATG status mean?

And yeah I don't think those guys, especially Frazier and Liston could of beaten him.

I very much agree. Too bad he lost four good years with injuries, I think the back problems made him the kind of arm puncher he is today. Still heavy handed though, as Iīm sure Adamek, Briggs etc would confirm.

I surprised you can even read, you clearly can't comprehend.

Also, Yoz, I understand your position but disagree completely. A lot of people have WK's resume as better than VK's and say VK has a comparatively weak resume to him and others, but they're wrong. Its about what you define as significant on a resume. If by "resume" you mean who has beat the most top 10 fighters or even top 20 fighters, then WK, Holmes, LL, Holyfield and Tyson all have better resumes (again, post Ali) than VK. But that's not an appropriate way of looking at it. Resume should include level of dominance over higher quality opponents, being the best of the era, and beating the best of the best available, not just the most of the best. Post LL era, the two best non Klitschko HW's are Sanders and Peter. WK lost to Sanders, and only narrowly won his first against Peter. VK beat Sanders convincingly and dominated Peter. Moreover, his ko and rounds won percentage are much higher than WK's (or anyone else, ever, except for Marciano's ko percentage). If WK winds up breaking Louis title defense record, then maybe the sheer volume will tell and his resume should be considered better, or if he beats someone who goes on to be a top 10 or 15ATG, but otherwise, VK should be ahead of WK.

I agree with this, but keep in mind that Wlad today is WAY better than the Wlad that fought Peter and Sanders. Still, Wlad himself once said that Vitali would knock him out if they ever fought. Donīt ask when and where, I canīt remember.

Apparently you haven't heard of Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. Vitali isn't even the best heavyweight in his family.
