I recently made a topic about that, but it garnered no responses. With that said, I'm still dreading as to whom the WBA will have as their next 'regular champion'. I still reckon Haye will be involved somehow, after he blows Fury away.

As you figured out, nothing will change much other than the Regular belt being free to be given out as a vacant belt. I believe Haye has a high ranking with the WBC currently, so i'm not entirely sure. The WBC have started a massive crusade recently to try keep their rankings separate, as well as their belts. Huck would need to have another HW fight with a top 10 WBA HW to get the belt. You said in your thread that Wlad would have all the other belts, which is wrong as Vitali will still hold the WBC version, and they flat out refuse to unify unless the winner either drops the WBC or the other afterwards. (I know im nitpicking at your post now, apologies). The WBC/WBA have been more lenient towards eachother though, but I think after Floyd/Canelo, we'll have problems again.

On another side note though, there has been discussions within the WBA as to scrapping the Super belt. This, along with the 154 WBA belts unifying soon too, might be the start of the 1-belt policy of the WBA, though I really doubt it. If a Froch/Ward fight matieralises, theres another opportunity.

Martin Murray was actually the Interim WBA champ when he faced Martinez. You can see how those belts are being discarded much easier now.

Just some boxing politics for you, you seemed interested lol. Bores most people

In which case I'll take a strong guess at Guillermo Jones getting a free shot, especially based on this article and the obvious favouritism from his fellow Panamanian crooks at We-Be-Assholes.

Not boring at all, even though it's a subject which I cringe to read about due to it being so infuriating and corrupt. What I am interested in, with regards to the HW belts, is how Wladimir has managed to keep all of his with no threat of having to drop any of them due to mandatories. That's pretty badass IMO, considering he started his 'collection' with the WBO in '06, unified with the IBF in '08, The Ring in '09, and the WBA in '11. And he still calls the shots! That's just fucking badass.

I'm guessing it's because K2 has an unlimited cash pool from which to pay off any sanctioning bodies who try to enforce their mandatories simultaneously or too close to the other. In no other division are all the major titles so definitively unified, if we disregard the brothers not fighting each other (which I'm totally OK with. I mean, fighting your own brother whom you love very much is a pretty sick thought).

It should be on HBO. It's good for boxing. Someone needs to beat the Klits so the HW division can interest people again.

Lol, HBO is a glutton for punishment and bad ratings. This will be another stinker, mark my words.

I have said this on a few occassions we want the best as the champion in each dividion and there is no-one better than the Klitschko's, even if you don't like them you can't argue with that. I remember the 80's before Tyson who broke on the scene in 1986 the Heavyweight division was woeful - please when the Klitschko's retire we will return to that unless someone special comes alomg but there is no evidence of that happening, so be careful what you wish for.
