Guillermo Jones Tells WBA He Wants Klitschko Shot

By Miguel Rivera

WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones (39-3-2, 31KOs) has his sights set on the heavyweight champion of the world, WBO/WBA/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51KOs).

Two weeks ago in Russia, Jones captured the cruiserweight title with an eleventh round TKO of Denis Lebdev.

On Tuesday Jones traveled to Panama to officially receive his WBA championship. During the press conference with WBA Vice President Gilberto Mendoza, Jones stated that he wanted a "fight with Klitschko."

Wladimir returns on October 5th in Moscow, when he defends his titles against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (26-0, 18KOs).

Jones should stay at Cruiser and add names to his legacy, and bills in his wallet. He is far too hittable to be any threat whatsoever to Klitschko. A lot of hate on here towards him though that is undeserved.…

He's going to find out that Wladimir hits way harder than Lebedev... It will be a painful lesson.

I really hope this doesn't happen!

He was tagged at will by Lebedev... For his health I don't want to see how well he can take a Klitschko punch, he would just simply take him into pieces bit by bit, total mismatch I reckon.
