If Williams/Mayweather would have happened then my money would have been on Floyd without a second thought. You have to have a strong jab and some pop to keep Mayweather humble and Williams didn't have either. Floyd is in another league skill wise. These guys that fight him want to fight an exciting fight but Floyd is there to win. Have to be able to out think Mayweather to beat him and there aren't any fighters that can.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 07-03-2013, 06:24 PM.

I think we have to realize how boxers make their money. I is not like the NBA where you have a salary cap. I'm just putting myself in the shoes of these boxers and I probably would be considered a "duck" by not fighting certain guys, not because I'm scared to fight them, but it may not generate money. Remember the Ghost called Floyd out for a couple years. The fight builded up to a good fight money-wise and Floyd took it. I think the only thing that hurt the Mayweather Pac fight was egos, not fear by either fighter which is evident to me by how fast this Mayweather Canelo fight got signed. I believe that if Pac wanted this fight, he should of gave Floyd the test, money, etc then if he'd won, then Pac would call all the shots for the rematch. This is what Floyd had to do for Dela Hoya, and every fight who fights one of the Klits. Yes, I wish that champions made a certain amount of money, #1 contenders made a certain amount, 5-2 made a certain amount, 10-6 made a certain amount and so on and so forth. That would make boxing a lot better. That way everyone knows their purse regardless of who they fight and their would be more a reason for fighters to fight for titles instead of the most popular fighters fighting without a title at stake. If they are good enough, they will eventually fight each other for a title.

Boxing is also a business. To hardcore fans, Williams would have been a great fight. You can call it ducking, scared, and all the shit that makes you keyboard warriors feel big. At the end of the day, Williams didn't bring the money.

Don't even say Paul Williams who lost to f**king Carlos Quintana 2 months after Floyd stopped Ricky Hatton.
Manny, with his politics, had more reason than Floyd to be on all those long vacations. Again, can't be blaming Manny on Floyd's vacations nor Floyd from saying "I want ALL PPV money"
terrible excuse. P. Williams lost a close fight to Quintana. Cotto got KOed twice BUT to Floyd and his fans "he was still undefeated"......
Williams then came back and KOed Quintana!!! Let's be honest, Floyd didn't want any part of Williams nor Martinez nor Manny nor Margarito!

He was good but if Quintana could get under them long arms then Floyd would have for sure. Williams smashed Quintana in the rematch but he should have never lost in the first place coming off of that big win against Margarito. Williams was a balls out fighter but he had no defense and he was a sucker for a counter. Cintron was wobbling him and Martinez put his lights out.

Floyd didn't have the power to slow down Williams either. Williams was still walking forward after being hit by the stronger Martinez, so I don't see Williams being concerned about Floyd's pot shots.
While Floyd would have about 15 pot shots, Williams would have accumulated 70+ punches. Williams had an excellent work-rate.
Furthermore, with Williams height and reach, Williams would be able to find Floyd's head with BOTH fists! Very few if any of Floyd's previous opponents can say that. Lastly, Williams is a southpaw himself. Again that plus his height and reach would neutralize the shoulder roll.

Remember when Oscar was doing this with Victor Ortiz and Floyd took a mic and said to Ortiz "Don't worry about him(Oscar) he's old news I already kicked his ass." Lmao they still don't like one another.

floyd hates when another boxer has an actual follow
Floyds very selfish he wants to be the only dude with the following....everytime another boxer hasa fanbase or fame he has to discredit it.... i mean i lile floyd alot fom a boxing perspective an his skills but he does have hate bones in him....idc how he putsi t canelo has star power an brings an audience, manny no matter as they say these days "still sleeping' or not the guy hasa huhe following an fame still....floyd shud just understand that

HARDLY. Aside from Oscar paying off Floyd's $6M tax debts so he wouldn't lose his mansions, which is why Oscar has been co-promoting several of Floyd's fights, so to get paid back the $6M. While Floyd is out frequenting strip clubs while his children are home in bed, and he's fresh out of the klink for roughing up their mother, Floyd has spent 17 years being strategic about who he hand picks to fight. He's NEVER fought the games best, IN THEIR PRIME, and has always waited until they were well past their prime, had too many wars, or just got old. Junior ducked Mosley & Cotto for more than 10 years. Junior wouldnt' fight Pacquiao in his prime and still won't fight him, but Floyd has several good BS story lines for why not. Floyd chose Ortiz as opposed to Marcos Maidana, after Maidana destroyed Ortiz. Floyd lays fame to beating Gatti, a one dimensional, lead with your chin, cuts very easy fighter, Marquez who Floyd purposely missed weight and out weighed fight night by 25lbs. He went 11 rounds with a smaller one dimensional, lead with your chin Ricky Hatton. He would never go up and fight Bernard Hopkins or Sergio Martinez. Most felt Oscar beat Floyd so much, Floyd walked away from a $25M rematch. So don't tell us how you dominate, how credible you are... you ran from Guerrero, you'll run from Canelo. You're all smoke and mirrors. If Floyd JUNIOR is all that, why does he need Oscar to CO-PROMOTE his fights; seems he'd make more money if he were the ONLY promoter... apparently he still owes Oscar money.Last edited by PR BOXING; 07-03-2013, 08:33 PM.
