Comments Thread For: Mayweather Fires Back, Shreds Canelo and De La Hoya

For those waiting to see the Floyd Mayweather of old who likes to trash talk, he made an appearance at the final stop for the Mayweather-Alvarez press tour in Los Angeles. Mayweather has taken a different road lately as he’s toned down the antics and had a more calm approach but he was back to his vintage form Tuesday night and it was due to being provoked.

“In every city Canelo has been quiet. Oscar De La Hoya has been quiet. The other guys [Eddy and Chepo Reynoso] probably didn’t even talk. Now all of a sudden the trainer was all like ‘grow some balls’. They all of a sudden want to talk trash. I truly believe in this, if you dish it out you have to be able to take it. If you talk trash, I will talk trash. You respect me, I respect you. That’s how it works” declared Mayweather.

I like the part where he says that De La Hoya always comes up with a game plan but they still come up short

The trainer did not say "grow some balls".. I was there ... he said "in boxing you need balls, and canelo has balls"

DLH is a promoter, so I start to understand his reasoning for hyping this fight up as "the fight that Mayweather may just lose"...

I think Floyd gets frustrated at the comments like "Floyd doesn't know what he's getting into.." "you know you're fighting Canelo right?" as if this is Floyd's first dance..

he doesn't like the hype given to a fighter who is really the less experienced when he is the best in the world...he's being made out to be the challenger to a young kid

either way, that's boxing...it's business...and it'll be quite the event

Dude, it's all an act. Mayweather and Oscar are professionals and understand that they need to ****e things up in the last stop of the press tour.

Somebody tell Oscar "YOU DON'T HAVE THE GAMEPLAN TO BEAT MAYWEATHER...BECAUSE YOU NEVER BEAT HIM!"

With respect to Oscar but Oscar he has to understand that he was far more skilled then most of the fighters today and especially Canelo. Oscar was a SKILLED BOXER himself, Great Amateur Career, Gold Medal Winning Boxer and in the ring, he had a jab, actually had very good defense and was damn good a Parrying Punches, also had a Chin.

Canelo is not anything close to any version of Oscar De La Hoya. So he can spar with Canelo and tell him everything he THINKS he needs to know but once he is in that ring by himself and on the fly with Mayweather...Everything Oscar told him will be a ***in afterthought
