Serg was a successful reigning lineal champ, he beat the guy who beat the guy..

Cotto never did that and has faltered in his biggest fights--floyd, margs, manny

Those statements aren't exactly contradictory. Cotto may have caved in the last three rounds had the referee not stopped it. He does fade late and I think they were well aware of that in New York. I personally predicted that Margarito would get stopped in such a way.

Possible, but to imply it was anything other than just regular deserved stoppage, like some have, isn't right. He had won every round and seemed to have more than enough to get through 3 more for a UD.

Because I'm too lazy to write up again, I've taken one of my older posts to add credibility to my opinion.








He beat Margarito's ass up until he started to fade around the 8th and 9th rounds, before that it was all him. He edged out Clottey rightfully, and he beat Mosley. He made the best account for himself than any who's fought Floyd since Castillo, and he was holding his own against Pacuiao until the 6th round, granted that was when Pacquiao was looking unstoppable.

he always took on great opposition, especially when he was climbing the ranks, he was running through guys who were ranked higher than him. He was making experienced fighters look foolish and weak when he had limited experience in the professional ranks.
