Not sure why so many people want him to lose, it isn't like he backstabbed a "team" like Lebron James did, a reason he will never be in the conversation of the greatest of all time in that sport, why want someone to lose just to see them lose? I want him to retire undefeated. Hard to criticize a perfect record. in the grand scheme of things as far as legacies and rankings go your resume is everything, but when you are at the peak of your career, the perfect record means everything, regardless of opponent. Perfect is perfect. The saying usually goes something like you haven't been tested until you take a loss and come back from it or something like that, you aren't a champion until you come back from a loss, I forgot how it goes and don't feel like looking it up, but you can also be so good that no one can put you into that position. As long as Floyd doesn't retire too late, like DLH or Toney, or even JMM might do, he should be safe with his record.

To be honest I don't expect Floyd to be in the top 10 of all time ever no matter who else he beats, but what would make me really happy/satisfied with his body of work, is seeing him retire undefeated and hearing all the haters of his cry about it for years to follow, not being able to do anything about it. If Floyd doesn't let it bother him, and we don't let it bother us, as fans of his, then they've got nothing.

Isn't that the point of competition?

Soon Wlad or Vitali will say we can meet Floyd at 190 catchweight; when everybody from 135-168 is calling you out you must have done something right.

Hey man, you're a respectable Floyd fan, and nothing wrong with your feelings on this. Not a fan of some Floyd's career management, but he's certainly much more deserving of going out undefeated than Calzaghe or Marciano or whatever. Only problem is, he has a pretty massive 6 fight guarantee he'd like to cash in on, and people are gonna tune out if he takes the path of least resistance. Showtime can't afford that, neither can GBP. Canelo will help a lot, but there's 4 more fights after that.

If Floyd had been facing the people everyone was calling for all these years he wouldn't have this problem.

That was just embarrassing as a Ward fan. I know he wants to be a star but come on.

I am surprised no one said Adonis Stevenson yet since he KO'd a former Super Middleweight Dawson and Floyd is fighting a JR Middleweight and Middleweight is the common word there...

funny thing is floyd has fought almost everybody who said he was ducking.

baldomir - yes... brian kenny said floyd was ducking baldomir.
                      hatton
                      mosley
                      cotto
                      alvarez

and we all know pac ducked the drug test like the plague when the fight mattered. floyd fought top ranked champions as alternatives.

the only case you could make at this point is for bumtonio bricksrito.
