I bet if Peterson had won GBP would have announced the fight between him and Garcia the next day. There's something fishy going on but I'm not sure it could all be attributed to the Garcia camp. I think GBP has dilemma on it's hand. Matthyse and Garcia are two potential stars with vastly different yet large fan bases. The reason why the fight has not been made probably has more to do with boxing politics rather than any of the fighters trying to avoid the fight.

Matthyse has no fans, before Peterson he drew less than 1000 fans

Not Surprised! Garcia Had A War With Judah; Matthysee Is NO Judah!

If Garcia is THIS nervous to step up and fight Matthysee now, then he just as well hand back the WBC belt, and go fight "Glass Jaw", Amir Khan or someone at that level; go fight on Friday Night Fights on ESPN. Everyone else has a dance partner. Floyd has Canelo, Rios has Pacquiao, Marquez has Bradley, Maidana just destroyed his guy at '47, and we know that Garcia doesn't want a piece of that, if he's flinching to fight Matthysee. Amir Khan has beaten nobody, he's getting knocked down in every fight these days. Garcia is not going to fight Alvarado or Provodnikov, for the same reason he is balking at the opportunity to fight Matthysee. Floyd did the same thing with Pacquiao, did the same thing with Cotto & Mosley, waiting until they were all three past their prime. Floyd STILL won't fight Pacquiao, wouldn't fight Maidana either after Marcos destroyed Ortiz in 8. Garcia, either man up and sign to fight Matthysee, or go fight some lame duck like Khan or Paulie Mags.

Lucas Matthysse fans have been saying that Danny Garcia is scared of Matthysse since before they even talked about putting this fight together, so it doesn't surprise me that because the match makers are taking their time with making this fight that Matthysse fans are going over board with the ducking statements. This is part of building the fight hype. Not one time has anyone seened Garcia show signs of fear in that ring. As soon as he's hit flush, it's like instinct for him to hit right back and that's the sign of a true fighter for you. I mean yall Matthysse fans act like Garcia is the one giving excuses. He already said that he will fight him. He also believes in his own power and was the underdog in a couple of the fights that led him up to star status.
