the truth is, floyd undefeated record would not be the focus of his legacy. if you decipher the history of all atg’s in the sport of boxing, historian and boxing fans rely more on the quality of opponents and fighting style.
floyd will be more remembered as a fighter with skills (boring style) but lacks the balls to fight worthy opponents.
floyd will come way short to even be included in the top 50 atg's.
He is a great talent but will be on the same level as a tyson, roy jones, in terms of ATG
Just too many missed big fights.. You can say guys dodged floyd which may be true early in his career but since the oscar fight he has been the #1 draw in boxing, and when you are the #1 draw in boxing like ali, srl, tyson, oscar, you can make any fight you want...
Oscar had no problem making the ike, mosely, tito, vargas, hopkins, floyd, manny fights
Srl fought Duran, hearns, hagler...
Ali fought frazier, norton, foreman, young, lyles, holmes, liston, etc
Floyd will go down with a slightly better resume and success than roy jones and tyson...
But way too many missed opportunities since the oscar fight....

He might have a shot. But I don't see him cracking top 10 status with his resume as of now.
Talent, skill? No argument here.
Still has time, and fights left though.
If he goes 49 or 50-0 and continues with all the named guys for his last few bouts he will get his just due. Just look at Broner. Haters and fans alike get defensive when you compare the two. Broner is so..........not at Floyd's level it actually makes you appreciate Floyd more lol.
