In fact, if Canelo changes too much (diet, training regimen, etc.) too fast for this fight believing that it's possible to quickly eliminate an issue that's almost certainly tied in large part to his natural body type, he could even hurt his chances.
Canelo is going to have to figure out how to beat Floyd with what he has. Unfortunately, a lot of the fight hype revolves around all the things Canelo is doing to bring what he hasn't shown he has.

Anyone believing that he's likely to knock Floyd out with a single punch (or single combination of punches) hasn't watched Canelo's fights closely. Canelo's knockouts are accumulative - he's not the super welterweight Mike Tyson.
It's even harder to buy into the KO hype after watching the Trout fight. Yes, he put Trout on the canvas, but Trout was able to get up and win the rest of the round because Canelo was already sapped of energy by the middle of the fight despite his low work rate. Trout is bigger than Floyd, but if Canelo couldn't hurt a fighter who he knew had no firepower, and find the energy to try to finish him off when he knocked him down, how is he going to deal with Floyd?
In any case, I don't care how much power you have: going into a fight looking for one shot, particularly against a skilled defensive fighter like Floyd Mayweather Jr., is sort of like going into the MGM Grand and betting everything you have on a single hand of blackjack. You could win, but it's more likely you're going to walk out of the casino looking really dumb. Hopefully Canelo is smarter than his KO-seeking fans.

Also, to help you answer your own question about an early stoppage, please let me know the last fight where Canelo knocked his opponent out in the first 4 rounds. Hint: you'll have to go back more than 10 fights to find it.

Oscar needs to STFU.. they all probably lost because he tried to sit there and talk their ear off when they could've been training.... All Oscar knows about is how to dress like a girl... maybe he can advise them on what color panties you wear with certain color skirts

Poor Oscar....since his lost to Mayweather, and being turned down for a rematch, he tries to get a victory by living vicariously through every fighter Floyd has to face since then to no avail. Let go, Oscar, or I hope you are using your name to promote your fighter.
