Comments Thread For: Peter Quillin's Next Return Being Eyed For October Date

Looks like middleweight world title holder Peter Quillin will return to the ring sometime in October, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez told BoxingScene.com on Saturday evening.

Quillin will appear on a card that Golden Boy Promotions is looking to schedule at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The venue has been the site of his last two fights.

No word yet on whom Quillin would face, but Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer recently mentioned to BoxingScene that Danny Jacobs is a possible opponent for Quillin in the near future. [Click Here To Read More]

Martin Murray would be a suitable opponent for Quillan.

I thought Murray had a problem with entering the USA.

You're right, I remember something about that.

And Quillan would not be willing to go to the UK, so that fight will not happen.

That would make sense, as both Garcia/Quillin have made the Barclays Center their home. And if Matthysse is Garcia's opponent, even better.

they are overexposing him to the NYC market. dude is having fights there every 5-6 months, they gonna be tired of him soon.

put him on the Mayweather undercard in vegas and let him get a name with casual fans, after that bring him back to NYC as a headliner instead of a co-feature.

You'd think he'd fight better guys then Guerrero fighting only 2X a year. But that's just the ducker life I guess

Yeah, he needs to step it up against a big name opponent if he wants to be mentioned along with Martinez and GGG. A match up with Chavez Jr. (politics aside) would definitely put some rear ends in the seats.
