The idea that Pacquiao made Oscar do anything is revisionist history at its best. Oscar cherry picked Pacquiao who'd only had just 1 fight at 135lbs. It shows how long certain people have been following the sport.
Are you insinuating that Oscar WANTED to fight at 147, instead of continue his campaign at 154? When was the last time Oscar had fought at 147, prior to that fight? The reason Oscar wanted the fight with Manny is because Manny was a big name at the time. Manny argreed to the weight of Oscar dropping down, he would've never agreed to fight him @ 154. So yeah, Manny being Manny forced Oscar to move down. And regardless of what the negotiation process was, Manny still fought 3 fighters in a row that were down from their normal weight classes. One was for a vacant 154 belt at a 150lb catchweight against somebody who was not a champion in any way, shape or form at 154. That was forever boggle my mind.
lol. plainly obvious you weren't even watching boxing when dlh brought Manny to 147.
so true. plus that fight wasn't a catchweight - it was 147 lb - weltrwt limit. oscar was prepared to fight floyd in a rematch at that weight, and was working his way down the scale - fighting Forbes at 150.
Like u said Pac had been fight at 130 for yrs and had 1 fight at 135. Pac was almost 2-1 dog. so anyone saying Pac had an unfair advantage in that fight is using revisionist history bc before the fight everyone was saying how de la hoya had HUUUGE weight and size advantage.
Pacquiao weighed more than DLH on fight night if I'm not mistaken, DLH being some 15-20 pounds lighter (on fight night) than in previous fights at 154. And Pacquiao was considered the #1 p4p in the world at the time. So yeah, he was able to play his cards to get DLH to drop down to 147.
you're even dumber than reloaded and dunn. and that's saying a lot. come to think of it, are you m.I.c. or sycomantz aka yessir? yup! you are.!
He could've also stayed put or moved up. He's got Golovkin, Martinez and Ward at his level.
.
LOL. Turn down Floyd Mayweather to fight a dangerous puncher who brings no money, a past prime champ who's injured and brings little money, or a masterclass boxer two divisions above who brings no money.
Yeah, right.
don't mind mindbat. he will be the first to say it was a smart decision for Floyd to fight Oscar instead if margarito.
let it go sheeps...it's a catchweight for a reason.
the more you defend it, the more you attract criticisms for the fight. you can't win trying to defend it...you'll just fuel the criticisms.
most catchweight fights in the past, if not all, got the same criticism and you can bet your dumbasses that you're one of those critics before. you'll just hurt your feelings by investing too much of your emotions trying to defend floyd at all cost.
