    • Floyd is worst since he is the one who is very vocal in condemning a fighter who resort to a catchweight bout....same goes with his team and his father,,, he's the one who said that he will not allow his opponent to fight him on their uncomfortable weight....he doesn't want draining his opponent, whatsoever....Now, he retracts from what his statement before, perhaps due to loss of memory or far more worse, he might be suffering from az..heimer disease(which i hope not).....

The idea that Pacquiao made Oscar do anything is revisionist history at its best. Oscar cherry picked Pacquiao who'd only had just 1 fight at 135lbs. It shows how long certain people have been following the sport.

Are you insinuating that Oscar WANTED to fight at 147, instead of continue his campaign at 154? When was the last time Oscar had fought at 147, prior to that fight? The reason Oscar wanted the fight with Manny is because Manny was a big name at the time. Manny argreed to the weight of Oscar dropping down, he would've never agreed to fight him @ 154. So yeah, Manny being Manny forced Oscar to move down. And regardless of what the negotiation process was, Manny still fought 3 fighters in a row that were down from their normal weight classes. One was for a vacant 154 belt at a 150lb catchweight against somebody who was not a champion in any way, shape or form at 154. That was forever boggle my mind.

one point. Manny didn't make ODH come in at 147. that wasn't manny's fault.

The correct criticism is to call it "ducking the JWW division", the same thing the manny fans described it when broner went from 135 to 147 to fight paulie.

so true. plus that fight wasn't a catchweight - it was 147 lb - weltrwt limit. oscar was prepared to fight floyd in a rematch at that weight, and was working his way down the scale - fighting Forbes at 150.
Like u said Pac had been fight at 130 for yrs and had 1 fight at 135. Pac was almost 2-1 dog. so anyone saying Pac had an unfair advantage in that fight is using revisionist history bc before the fight everyone was saying how de la hoya had HUUUGE weight and size advantage.

ducking the jr wlterwt division. Yeah - that funny considering after KO'ing Oscar, Manny fought the true champ in that weight - Hatton. absolutely destroyed him, becoming the only fighter ever to win lineal titles in 4 weight classes (112, 126, 130, and 140) and continuing the buzz for Pac vs. floyd (and we know what happened from there)

                  Let me educate you....

Im not insinuating it, I'm telling you that was the case. Oscar fought Steve Forbes at 150lbs in preparation for a rematch with Floyd at 147. Floyd backed out of the fight so Oscar targeted the winner of Cotto-Margarito at 147. When Tony upset the odds, Oscar ducked him and cherry picked Pacquiaio asking him to come to 147.

                  You're welcome.

Pacquiao weighed more than DLH on fight night if I'm not mistaken, DLH being some 15-20 pounds lighter (on fight night) than in previous fights at 154. And Pacquiao was considered the #1 p4p in the world at the time. So yeah, he was able to play his cards to get DLH to drop down to 147.

fyi....Pacman was a nobody at higher weight and De la Hoya was already an established fighter back then...Pacman name just catapulted to stardom after he won against De La hoya in dominating fashion.....and 147 is not CW......
