Honestly, I'm good with any combination of Broner, Garcia, Matthysse, and Maidana.

Of course, that's gonna leave Matthysse out in the cold. If that's the case, Provodnikov makes the most sense for Lucas.
Leaving Matthysse out in the cold would be a contradiction with all the promotion Matty got from GBP after his Peterson fight. It wouldn't make sense.

Danny is a duck if this fights happens..

and GBP is full of $h^t because this was suppose to be a tournament, remember winners fight each other....

Danny being protected because any boxing person knows lucas ko's him and Al haymon trying to protect Danny because he is a potential May2014 opponent for floyd, lucas would ruin those plans....

This is why boxing is not a mainstream sport,,,, Ufc champs usually always defend vs a top contender, GSP came off a career threatening injury and has fought 3 straight Contenders in condit, diaz and in november Hendricks....

And they wonder why Boxing has lost alot of prestige.. These guys have the same handlers and still cant make the fight... PATHETIC

Boxing is how he makes his living. And who am I to criticize him for not doing what's in his best interest to make the most money possible in a profession where you have a very small window of time to make big money?
Has no crossover potential?! Yeah right the number one thing to be potentially a crossover star is power. Dude has dynamite in his hands and nasty knock outs; things casual fans identify with.

It's a rumor, after all. It could well be another way of building up the Garcia - Lucas fight. I don't think there is much room for not making the fight.

Matthysse/Maidana is an emergency match-up imo. When they have no other options or both are coming off losses, just throw them together and they'll produce fireworks. If GBP cares about them, they won't make that match-up right now.

Not really. Mayweather, Pacquaio, and DLH are the latest examples of crossover stars. And the only one with big time power was Pac, and his power is overrated. Charisma is the most important thing. That's what Floyd has. DLH had looks, which are also important. Pac was fortunate enough to break through as the anti-Floyd. Matthysse doesn't really have anything about him that's gonna move the needle. The only young fighter out there now that's stands out and makes non-boxing fans wanna see him is Broner. Guys like Matthysse are a dime a dozen. Boxing is littered with punchers that didn't cross over.

Hope you're right, I think they'll have to give Lucas a really good alternative if they can't make it happen, although it's hard to think what it would be.

If Garcia ducks this fight, I don't think there should be any limits to the venom sent his way. We should all be exhibiting the kind of blind, borderline psychotic hatred dan_cov had on the go before the Rigo/Donaire fight. I'll be doing my part, it'll be fully deserved.

Danny Garcia is the biggest f*ggot in boxing right now.

Orlando Cruz looks like Carl Froch by comparison.

Pac broked through because he was exciting as hell, and because he had already gained huge exposure through his battles with two legendary Mexican superstars in Barrera and Morales.

When he got on the main stage vs Oscar he looked a million bucks and gained millions of fans in one night. The Floyd stuff came later.
