GBP and TR are fantastic at moving their chess pieces around in a way that always covers their investments. Let Matthysse/Maidana kill each other in a FOTY to make the fans happy and protect Broner/Garcia. They've been trying to push them together for a while now, but I don't think it's gonna happen cuz neither guy is that interested.

Its not gonna happen this year because Broner shot his mouth off and Matthysse is running away with the poll with Maidana a distant second. Schaefer wants Broner-Maidana, so that's likely the fight we're gonna get. And my guess is he's gonna keep Danny on ice and serve him up to Broner next spring/summer.

Of course, that's gonna leave Matthysse out in the cold. If that's the case, Provodnikov makes the most sense for Lucas.

What happen to Lucas vs Garcia!!!! I like both guys but I think Lucas will beat Garcia via KO. Garcia has a chance to beat Lucas and that's what make this match up interesting. C'mon! Make it happen!

And since that's the case, the best option out there for Matthysse will be Maidana. Whether it be this fall or next spring/summer, in which case he'd be coming off a loss to Broner.

Provodnikov is a TR fighter and is in negotiations with Alvarado. He also fights for the WBO whereas Matthysse is WBC.

Matthysse's potential opponents: Garcia, Broner, Postol. Worst-case scenario is Roberto Ortiz, who's a decent undefeated fighter but realistically shouldn't be getting a shot.

Thanks for the correction. Just checked the TR site and he isn't on their roster, but according to Boxrec, the Bradley/Provodnikov card was only TR/Zanfer promoted. Matthysse/Provodnikov would be crazy.

If Lucas is left outta the Broner/Garcia/Maidana mix this year, Ruslan would definitely be my choice of opponent for him. Would be a great fight while it lasts.

The ideal match-ups: Garcia/Matthysse, Broner/Maidana. If we can't get that, then Broner/Garcia (WBA), Matthysse/Postol (WBC) and Maidana vs. the winner of Chaves/Thurman are good alternatives.
