A lot of people saying Paulie is a C class fighter n never been elite. So what does that make Broner??? Guy gets A level fighter treatment but barley beat a C class fighter with no pop. Lol I still like Broner, he's gonna be good but he's not at the level yet where people wanna say he's the next Floyd. He won't even make it to 26 unbeaten, let along 36. He also needs to be humbled. I was cool with everything that happened before the fight but after he won, he still had to talk **** when he really wasn't in position to be talking. You said you was gonna ko him or punish him for 12. And you got a split decision. Lol he's still got the mindset of a little ninja.

How much credit does someone deserve for winning a decision over a past prime B-level fighter who never had a chance to hurt him? It's not only the outcome that disappointed me, but how nonchalant he seemed throughout the fight and how he tried to coast. He had no respect for Paulie and almost lost a decision because of it, he needs to get serious. Paulie didn't play spoiler, he was actually trying to win and almost always answered back anytime Broner threw. Paulie did his job well, he arguably deserves more credit than Broner.

He got his 12 rounds in, get it!! Man we have some dumb people here!
Did you see when he opened up a few times how Paulie ran? So he just went back to stalking and fought at a mild almost countering pace and got his rounds in. Anyone who had Paulie remotely winning more than 3 or 4 rounds doesn't understand the difference between amatuer & pro boxing!! Paulies punches had NOTHING on them! It was NOT a great fight by any means but it beat the hell out of Seth & Banks! Ray.

Sure but he was expected to knock out the 14-1 underdog, like he said he would. Paulie's best case scenario was to pitter patter his way to a decision. Who did their job better?

Zero!! He deserves zero credit..GBP fed him Malignaggi, how come they didn't offer him any of the other belt holders at 147? Exactly..Paulie has been bad mouthing GBP since early 2012 it was only a matter of time. People in here acting like Bronner stepped up and took a risk..he fought a pillow fisted fighter with a history of brittle hands..yeah some risk. Here is the kicker..they planned to feed Malignaggi to Khan but Khan looked so bad in his last fight they had to give him another tune up...so there went Khan vs Mayweather for another belt...hence why Khan who has never done shhh at 147 somehow got ranked at #2.

So are you saying Paulie was landing meaningful connects with regularity?

because the other 2 147lb champs are floyd and tim bradley. floyd is fighting canelo and tim is fighting JMM.

khan already beat paulie in 2010.

do you even watch boxing or just log on to hate on floyd and broner?

Paulie can't break and egg, he gets hit by Mathysse, he's in serious trouble. Also, Paulie took some good shots from him and was never even hurt, Mathysse, Rios and Maidana has really good chins, they are FAR from tailor made for AB.
And Demarco barely touched AB. AB fought like an idiot against Rees because he had no respect for his power. Paulie didn't land anything of any consequence. Plus, AB had to get close to touch Paulie because he's 2" shorter. My bet is against guys who's power he has to respect, like the guys you mentioned, he probably won't stay in punching range as much as he did with Paulie and Rees.

As for the guys you mentioned, all have been outboxed by guys that IMO aren't technically as sound as Broner. All of them also throw a lotta wide punches, which will make them easier to counter. I pick AB to outbox all of them to comfortable decisions.

BTW, if Paulie was never bothered by anything AB landed, why was he pretty much in retreat mode in the middle rounds? If Paulie could have kept up the ridiculous workrate he had in the first two rounds, he might have won. He started getting countered in the third and pulled back.

This is an understandable stance, but it still doesn't mean Paulie won. Boxing fans have a tendacy to believe that when an underdog performs better than expected it means he won the fight.
