paulie grabbed a leg before all of that. and it didn't look like there was any real contact to the nuts.

broner didn't look good last night. if you don't like him you can focus on that.

see if you can find Lou Savarese vs. Nathaniel Fitch. Lou laced Fitch and then kneed him in the package.

Questions need to be asked of the ref. Broner pulled a lot of dirty moves, and if it was the other way around i'm Paulie would of been punished.

Paulie was grabbing his leg, thats not disputed. But Broner decided to deal with it by kicking Paulie in the nuts. It wasn't some random thing, he clearly made a decision to do that.

the intention with the post was not to compare the two acts, though both were of no consequence. the grabbing of the leg precipitated the act being perceived as a "kick to the nuts."

do you really think broner would just line up and kick maglinaggi in the nuts?

i've got a replay in font of me. there is no distinct kicking motion to the nuts, and there is no real contact of consequence. there's some incedental contact, and it doesn't appear to be some damaging kick with intent.

cups in boxing are iron. you'd need to really blast somebody with a kick to hurt them.

i'm not sure if you've ever had a leg picked up on you before (every kid should wrestle with his friends when he's young, so i hope you have,) but it raises your center of gravity and can knock you down. it will also bring your leg close to your opponent's nuts, giving the appearance of a kick being thrown if you don't know what you're looking at.

maglinaggi clinched hatton's legs, (either he or khan) if memory serves right. those guys had him hurt much ore than broner did. i think he grabbed broner's leg to get under his skin more than because he was hurt.

his point is that people only look at broner's "kick" instead of the act that precipitated all of this, which was maglinaggi blatantly clinching his legs. again, lifting somebody's leg and driving them forward above the center of gravity(which is exactly what maglinaggi does,) is the prerequisite to putting them down.

both are fouls. one cause the other. you made a thread about one of them.

Hey they wear cups so no big deal, its a fight! Broner should have looked better but he had to chase Paulie around all night! Theres a reason Paulie was on the move, he felt Broner and knew he had to get on the bike or get KO'd. A few kidney shots and rabbit punches never hurt anyone! HA! Ray

Lifting your leg is fine. Its the dramatic straightening of said leg and the reaction of everyone involved that lets you know how incidental the contact was.

Broner is like "But I iz with Haymon!!!" CMON IZ A HAYMON FIGHTA!!!"

Paulie goes to the corner and crouches down like "OWWW HE JUST KICKED ME IN THE NUTS!".

That says every everything you need to know.
