Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Recalls When Broner Came Pleading For Help

NEW YORK — Paulie Malignaggi remembers what Adrien Broner told him a couple years ago.

The WBA welterweight champion believes Broner keeps talking about knocking him out because the undefeated fighter from Cincinnati is concerned what will happen if their title fight goes 12 rounds Saturday night at Barclays Center (Showtime; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. ET). The brash, Brooklyn-bred Malignaggi made Broner smile during a news conference Thursday as he told the story about their conversation in the locker room at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, Calif., just before Broner boxed Mexico’s Daniel Ponce De Leon in March 2011. Malignaggi should show Broner what a 12 rounder is about. But can he?

This is ******, whether its true or not. And for the record, I say it probably is. Young fighters look up to and ask seasoned vets for advice all the time. Mosley tried to use the same nonsense on Floyd in the lead up to their fight. Means nothing.

Man I just don't know what to make of this one.
I can see Broner ko him in the first 6-7 rds, but íf Paulie remains upright after that first surge, he just might do a Ponce de Leon on him.
Still if I have to choose, I'd go for Broner by stoppage around 8-9.
He's already deep into Paulies mind freaking him up over the girl and exposing his private life haha.
            The plan worked beautifully
If Ricky Hatton CAN do it, Broner CAN do it for shure too.

I hope Paulie can at least make it a 12 rounder. If he does that means Broner will have ate several jabs and if Paulie connects enough jabs he can bust your face up.

That was an all time classic moment at the face off:

Mosley: You remember when you fought on my undercard and you came up to me and said you respected me and wanted to be like me one day?

Floyd: Are you kidding me? I barely know who the **** you are!!!!
                Awesome!!

I hope Pauli has something for Broner. But I think its a fight were Pauli will have moments early but once the young guy catches him its all over. Broner by TKO in the 9th....

As far as the fight goes, it means nothing; but it's funny to see Broner deny a story that's probably true. Adrien could've just said, "That was then; this is now. Now I'm gonna wax your ass!"

On paper, Malignaggi has his chance.
But Broner hits harder than Khan.
