He already did by requesting the fight to be at 152.

First I don't care for either fighter. I despise Jr for his cherry picking over the past 8 years. I don't think that Canelo is a superstar, I think he is good but he doesn't stand out when you first watch him.

      Eric Morales stood out
      Mikey Garcia stands out, etc..........

The trenches are when you are into the fight and its not going your way, especially when your health is in jeopardy, leather is flying and landing and you have come to the place where you can't get away and you will either :

      FIGHT

      or

      FLEE

IF not allowed to flee due to your exits shut down YOU MAY QUIT

      for example:

Chavez took away all the skill of Roger Mayweather and put him in those trenches to where he had to make a decision, he had done all he could do, he decided NOT TO STAY in the fight but FLEE or QUIT on his stool

JR always slides away. HE knows who he can get away from and without a doubt knows in his heart he will get away from Canelo and make a fool outa him, its Canelos job to shut down his get aways or exits, if Canelo from the start does that and is consistent about it , his power will prevail and JR will find himself in a place where he has never been!!!!!

IF Canelo shuts down JR's exits then

JR will have to FIGHT or he will FLEE

Time in the trenches will test the heart, the will of the fighter and some will fool ya , some will stay, and believe they are always winning,,,,,Ruslan PROVODNECOV sp is GAME to stay in the trenches, some will QUIT and try to survive.

I just can't see how an actual boxer doesn't study fights or fighters styles.
Canelo is not aggresive, and he doesn't not come forward, he likes to fight backwards with little steps, and likes more to be a counterpuncher. Canelo is a Boxer-puncher, not a puncher, not a brawler. If anything young Canelo has proved since his last 4 fights is that the kid takes his time, has fun and is very smart, and that's the kind of style that Floyd doesn't like.

I'm picking Floyd by UD,. but I do realize that young Canelo has a legit chance of giving Floyd a tough fight.

You definitely can't say Floyd is a cherry picker and turn around and suggest Canelo isn't. It's not a discredit to either guy, they both have top management guiding their respective ships. Canelo and Floyd are both top talents who were recognized early on and have had good business people behind them.

I hope this one is interesting. I think it will be. I think Canelo has more skill than Victor Ortiz and physically I expect him to come in looking about the same as Ortiz did on fight night- a good 20 pound blimp out type of situation.

but you said 2lbs and cw's were no big deal when manny fought cotto. that it didn't give manny any extra advantage.

why now is 152 taking away canelo's size and strength? why isn't it the same?

Canelo biggest advantage is not power or size, Canelo's biggest advantage is that he's a student of the game, most people will say I'm crazy but imho Canelo biggest weapon comin the day will be his speed and his elusiveness, of course folks, I can be wrong, and the day of the fight Mayweather will put a clinic on Canelo like he usually does to every single fighter that steps up in to the ring with Floyd. But don't count out Canelo he might shoock you.

I don't think Zab is much of a student of the game. A lot of boxers aren't. I appreciate who are like Ward and Malignaggi. I don't really like it when fighters aren't fans of the sport they're involved in.

Zab picked Cotto to beat Pacquiao too, maybe a bias towards those who beat him.

Unless Canelo improves his stamina, he does not stand even a tiny chance. I mean Floyd demolishes him stylistic wise. He will also have more stamina, and Canelo will not be able to put his power on him. The only chance Canelo could have had in this fight, would be to bully and outwork Floyd and get a decision. With his fighting 1 minute per round though he will just end up pot shotted to death.

I just hope Canelo fixes his stamina problem, if he does that, and if the trains to be a lighter faster guy, Floyd will have trouble.
