Oh I didn't say their ratings are trash. And as I've said several times, their ratings are the ones I choose to follow in my own lil boxing universe. That said, I feel like I'm far to knowledgeable as a fight fan to let Ring magazine, or any website or publication, totally dictate to me how I view the sport.

Does that mean that you, a knowledgeable fightfan in your own words, have Calzaghe ranked as the no. 1 SMW from 1999 to 2003?

Definitively, I don't have eihter rated #1 during that period. I think a logical case can be made for both. But since they never fought, and neither ever lost, there's really no way rating one ahead of the other, IMO.

Now retrospectively, as we've agreed, Calzage's resume is better and he will go down as the better fighter. Talent and skill-wise, I think Calzage was the better fighter. And in a head-to-head match-up, Calzage would be a very solid favorite. So without a head-to-head match-up to go on, if pressed I would have probably rated Calzage ahead of Ottke in the time period you mentioned simply because I think he was better.

Gimme a break. Anyone with a brain knows Froch doesn't want to fight Ward, because Ward would school him even easier the second time around.

Ward was on his way to stopping Froch, but he hurt his hand.

Ward may be #1 but he has very limited options and froch can take a kessler 3 fight for big money while Ward wont have any big fights on the horizon, unless he moves to lhw

If Ward whooped Froch's ass in exciting fashion you best believe Froch would have rematched already....bottom line is...THE BOTTOM LINE. TV don't want it....fans ain't paying for it...Ward is content with the little bit of money he has in the bank and hustling for commentary gigs (and protecting his '0') instead of getting this money and making a name for himself by travelling and/or moving up to 175. Sheeid Ward is scared to go to 175 and CHERRYPICK for crying out loud.

"Going forward, the best win for me now and the only win that would be totally satisfying for me would be to rematch Andre Ward".

“But I don’t think that is in our immediate plans, that will be two or three fights down the road.

No Ward brings a one sided beatdown for Froch is what he brings lol. Froch wants nothing to do with Ward except possibly in the UK where he can just last until the final bell to get a BS hometown decision. Ward beats Froch 100 out of 100 times. Who gives 2 ****s about Froch/Kessler III. Kessler is on his way out and Froch did not even look that good anyways. Froch is not P4P and absolutely not a HOFer.
