How is Campillo a C rated fighter? He beat cloud who Hopkins beat to get his belt.... Everyone always gives hop credit for beating cloud, so how can Campillo be a C rated fighter?

Campillo is a legit top 10 guy and right before Kovlaev beat him he was a top 5 LHW. I'm not understanding this logic. Stop looking at boxrec..... Before Kovalev-Campillo, many people thought Campillo was going to win and Kovalec was the underdog.... Sergey absolutely demolished him and now instead of Kovlaev being a potentially good fighter, Campillo is a bum? Really?

Same people calling Campillo a C level fighter are calling Tavoris cloud a top 10 LHW which one is it?

Campillo is of no relevance -- look at his record...
But, it's true, Kovalev is rated #3 by Ring (with Adonis as Ring champ)...

Campillo is certainly not elite- That's for sure. See him going to the wire with Murat twice, who Cleverly smashed to bits a couple of years ago.

Kovalev is good though - But I think Cleverly is all wrong for him. Would love to see a fight between Kovalev and Stevenson! Now that would be a war!

Define elite? When Kovalev beat him he was a legit top 10 fighter in the division. I'm not sure how you can argue against that.

Since now, Kovalev fought just C-rated fighters -- one cannot say how good he really is.
Hopkins would have taken this fight, but there's no money on the table and grandpa wants some big gates before he retires.

If cloud is legit when talking about Hopkins win against him, how is Campillo NOT legit when talking about Kovlaev beating him?

Stop looking at boxrec, Campillo isn't irrelevant because of his record. He has two unofficial losses against CHAMPIONS Shumenov and Cloud. He got robbed against them both. Campillo became irrelevant once he lost to Kovlaev.... Kovlaev knocked him to irrelevancy, not his record. Had he beat Kovlaev he would of probably been in line for another title shot.

Exactly... You can say what you want to try and downplay Kovalevs victory over Canpillo but most of those saying tjay probably had no idea that fight was going on when it did and are just looking at boxrec and coming to this silly conclusion that Campillo was some bum. The fact of the matter is that Campillo was a LEGIT top 10 LHW when he fought Kovalev and most people here thought Campillo was going to outbox and beat the unlnown Kovalev.

Don't get me wrong, if the fight is made BIG props to Nathan. I just find it strange that HBO are showing an interest in him; like some posters say, it may be that they want to get Kovalev on board.

Because Cloud is a relatively well known American while Campillo and Kovalev are unheralded Europeans, that's what hit comes down to.

Pretty much. That may be fine for racists and biased fans..... But that doesn't fly with legit fans and the true boxing world. That's why they can say what they want, and try to spin it however they want.... But the facto f the matter is, Kovalev absolutely destroyed and sent a top 10 LHW Into irrelevancy.... And that win is just as good as Hopkins beating cloud.
