    Indeed.

I wish Ward and Froch would move up to it already. Then we could have some really good fights with Ward, Froch, Hopkins, Stevenson, and Kovalev in the mix.

Hopkins ain't losing to this guy. Dudes defense is crap, punches are not that fast and all he does is come forward. Hopkins is too skilled...sorry guys. This won't be the guy to KO the old legend.

No balls. Froch and promoter Eddie Hearn keep saying Froch makes 168 easily. Hopkin's wanted Froch too. Froch beat Pascal at 168 so IMO he would be a top guy there too.

Ward, he is very good and can win at LHW. He does hold and use his strength at times, not sure if that will work at 175. His skills though would make him most likely the best. Ward has issues with promoters so I will leave that for now, but I certainly feel he plays it safe. Especially when was to fight Pavlik...

I have only seen one fight of his. VS White who wasn't giving any movement or even feints.

Hopkins will move in angles around his straight punches and force him to reach, will never be directly in front of him but to the side of his punches, the rest of the time he will clinch him when appropriate. He will tap him with straight rights all night long (look at that nice tall posture with no head movement, easy straight rights from B-Hop all night).

The Post-fight conclusion: A lot of angry threads on NSB being made about how boring the fight was and how B-Hop spoiled it because you didn't get what you were expecting, what you were so sure of and are angry at all the punches that Hopkins smothered, round after round.

Bernard Hopkins Issued Championship Ultimatum, Forced to Face Russian Wrecking Machine

COMMENTARY | History-making 48-year-old world champ, Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32 KOs) is in a real bind. The reigning IBF light heavyweight titlist was set to face the solid, but unspectacular Karo Murat in a mandatory title defense on July 13, but only because he had to--- and, likely, because he had a good chance of winning. The Murat fight was a necessary evil if Hopkins wanted to move on to a big arena-filler later this year and bring along the IBF strap as a bargaining chip.
But Germany's Murat is suddenly out of the picture, felled by visa issues that prevented him from entering the United States. Meanwhile, as Murat was being counted out of his title shot with the future hall of famer, the IBF's no. 4 contender, Sergey Kovalev was beating the stuffing out of no. 5 contender, Cornelius White en route to a TKO 3 victory Friday night in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This Monday morning the IBF announced that the heavy-handed Russian wrecking machine, Kovalev, would be replacing Murat as the mandatory light heavyweight contender. Representatives of Hopkins and his new mandatory challenger have until July 17 to negotiate a deal or see the bout head off to purse bid.
Hopkins, who has said that he only wants big fights at his age, was willing to take a small fight against a lesser challenger. Now, not only is he being pushed into a small fight, but it'll be a small fight against an extremely dangerous opponent with more than a fair chance of upsetting all of his plans.
The undefeated 30-year-old Kovalev (21-0-1, 19 KOs) is absolutely no joke. The only blemish on the Russian's record is a foul-induced technical draw in 2011. Taking away that fluke occurrence, Kovalev should be on a run of nine straight stoppage victories with eight of those stoppages taking place in the third round or sooner.
Roman Simakov, one of only two men to take Kovalev seven rounds or more, paid dearly for his efforts, losing his life three days after the 2011 TKO 7 loss due to brain injuries sustained in the bout.

Buddy KILLED A MAN! i didnt even know about that.....
Lol he wont survive the later rounds with Hopkins bro. He hasn't even gone more then three in years? Everybody looks likw the next wrecking machine when they are fighting journeymen

It might be an easier fight than Stevenson. This guy is too conventional, it would be an easy night for hopkins.

I will look further on this video. What do you think of my thoughts?
That dude aint slow. And Hopkins aint gonna be able to get in and out of his fast combinations. Hopkins gonna get hit a few times, and the dude footspweed is not bad. He can move a little. This is not a short, square brawler like Pascal and Cloud. He a little different, so I wanna see whats gonna happen with!!! him and Hoppa poppa
