It's not but Byrd makes it that way because he has a very big mouth. A good fighter, one that is TV friendly, is one whom can win and give value for money. At times i doubt Byrd is trying. Yes he scores points and wins, this is ok. But with fighters like him, don't you think Judges should give even more credit for aggresion than they already do? Could it force the Byrd into an Eagle or Hawk if he knew he`d be penilized for non performance?

There is no upside to Byrd anymore.

A few years ago when Lennox was smacking the divison around, Byrd used to always talk about how he wanted nothing but the top names in the division and all of that. He used to always say the top guys (i.e. Lewis...) where ducking him and didn't want to give him his rightful shot.

        What a ****ing joke.

I think it's become pretty clear that Byrd is full of ****.

Foreman was asked did Byrd remind him of Jimmy Young and Foreman replied Byrd is in a class of is own.

Lewis did duck him though, thats not to say that Lewis wouldn't have beat him, but Lewis knew that it was maybe not a risk worth taking as history shows that these southpaws cause upsets.

Also, when he first started complaining they matched him with Ike and we all know what happend there! I remember the post fight interview, Byrd said 'The best, and everyone knows that 's me'
This is AFTER losing to Ike. What a lair!

Manny Steward was the one who wanted no part of Byrd. he feared lewis would lack the intensity he needed at his age at the time to blow Byrd away!

Ike was arguably the second best heavy in the world at that stage behind Lewis.
