Well Pascal is right for the most part it seems...its all mental with Chad...

I was thinking the same thing, Chad was going toe-to-toe with Stevenson, Chad looked pretty confident but that got him in trouble...

I don't think Chad is done though like most may say, I just don't think he'll ever really be a top level fighter anymore if he ever really was...a top level fighter shouldn't lose to amateurish Jean Pascal...and to me Ward may be #2 P4P if were evaluating everything he CAN do not necessarily resume-wise...

The Ward fight was a beating but this just him getting caught cold...he wasn't out cold or anything...I think Chad will be back in contention soon...

You were impressed with Pascal in that fight?
He got beat on for a min of the fight and basically won the rest of the 10.5 rounds. There's nothing special about Pascal, but he handled an undefeated Dawson that night

It's hard being a Dawson fan, how many times has it been that Dawson will rebound and prove the doubters wrong? He's been underachieving the last five years even since the Glen Johnson fight. He either wins unspectacularly or loses. It's hard to be a fan of a fighter who has confidence issues.

He's done imo, Scully is right he doesn't the love sport of boxing. That's why he always taking shortcuts when trying to win, he fires trainers all the time, he make dumb decisions, he fights lazy in the ring, he's overlooks his opponent like he did against Stevenson.

Spot on, had Chad stayed with Floyd Sr, he would have corrected those issues. But Dawson has a terrible attitude.

Pascal is right,Dawson has always had problems with young fighters..Guy's who move fast always catch Dawson for some reason..B-Hop is not that kinda fighter,so Dawson(like Taylor)can outwork B-Hop..Does not mean he is a smart fighter..Dawson is a talented fighter I don't know how smart he is..

                Pascal's right. He's not a smart fighter.

                He's one dimensional.

he's too emotional, a guy talks sht to him he comes in ****** and forgets to box intelligently, there's also styles, athleticism/counter-puncher does make fighters seem smarter than they are, when in reality they just have a cheap ass style where you have to be the one working or they wont do anything, one little twitch and they bounce back most of these technical geniuses when you take away their counter-punching can't fight any other way and are about as creative as a bag of rocks when it comes to creating offense

I think Dawson was way too overrated in the past years...
Since 2008, Chad fought six times against old opponents -- about or past 40 years of age; Johnson, Tarver, and Hopkins...
Since his loss to Pascal (August 2010), Dawson won by decision against Diaconu and Hopkins and lost by KO against Ward and Stevenson...
Therefore, lately, the only "significant" fight Chad was part of was that he won by MD against a 47 years old B-Hop...
