Former champion Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 16KOs) was shaking his head as he sat ringside and watched Chad Dawson's initial strategy against hard-puncher Adonis Stevenson (21-1, 18KOs) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Pascal handed Dawson (31-3, 17KOs) his first career defeat in 2010 with a unanimous eleven round technical decision. All it took was one punch, in the first round, for Stevenson to close the show and capture Dawson's WBC light heavyweight title.

lol. I was thinking the same thing. Pascal appeared to be a very smart fighter against Dawson, but looked dumb as a bag of rocks against Hopkins. Yet, Dawson dominated my boy Hopkins. I do think that he is right in that he didn't fight a smart fight by challenging a relatively unknown who hits like a mule.

On another note, I would like to see Pascal against Ward. That would be a good matchup.

Squaring up while throwing combinations, leaving his chin up in the air, reason why I could never get behind Dawson. In fact that's not even it, I think what bothered me most about Dawson was checking out, he'll literally freeze up in the ring, it'd almost look like he forgot he was fighting.

Barely. He's lucky the headbutt occured and saved him. He was starting to get BEAT ON in the 11th.

I don't have a problem with Pascal, I just don't think he has room to question Chad's boxing IQ.

Maybe Stevenson was the wrong selection of opponent (in hindsight). Going into the fight I don't think too many people were picking Stevenson. I had seen Stevenson fight before and I figured Dawson would outbox him.

Anyway, I don't know if Pascal would win a round against Dawson. I wish Pascal and Stevenson were able to fight each other. That's be a real donny brook. LOL
