Comments Thread For: “Fighting Words” — No Surprise if Broner Beats Paulie

There won't be surprise if Broner beats Paulie just remembering that actually Malignaggi lost to a limited Cano in his last fight beyond the split decision gift by 2 judges. And Cano lost to a shot Mosley so one can conclude that Paulie is hardly a top fighter in the WW division. Boxrec. com lists PM at # 20 which means another dozen better boxers at 147 were avoided: Floyd, JMM, Bradley, Alexander, Manny, Maidana, Guerrero, Abregu, Provodnikov among others are likely more challenging than Paulie for the arrogant Broner.

If I made a list of fighters I'd rather see Broner face Malignaggi is around 8th.
Paulie has always talked a big game. He can't always back it up. He looked hopeless against Hatton and Khan.
If Broner is going to be considered a p4p fighter I'm not going to give him credit for fighting the weakest champion between 140-147.
Maidana, Mathysse, Bradley, Alexander, Garcia, Thurman, Gamboa...
List could probably go on. Some of those aren't his fault, but still Malignaggi would lose to all of those guys.

Although it has already happened I can't wait for the moment he gets cracked by real competition then shakes his head mimicking Mayweather then gets cracked again and everyone will see that look in his eyes when he knows his ass is in trouble..
He's already started to build his 'avoid career ending' fighters list. He knows 140 isn't a division he can enter and fight for the dominate spot straight away. **** his first 147 fight is against ol' man Paulie lol. The hype gets bigger but the resume stays on the same level.Last edited by miniq; 06-17-2013, 04:30 PM.

Broner will have his time when he's ready. He's still only 23. How many fighters were taking on everyone at 23? Not many.Last edited by ROSS CALIFORNIA; 06-17-2013, 07:45 PM.

If Paulie is able tow in this bout (Which I think he's very capable of doing.) I'm sure the next match will be Malignaggi vs. Maidana next, whoever won that match-up would get a crack at Mayweather in the near future. The thing that Paulie has going for him is the fact he's a great talker, promoter of his brand, etc. What would really ascend Malignaggi to the top as the next Mayweather foe after Canelo would be a decisive KO of Broner, which I doubt would happen.
