I believe it. Donaire was doing more trash talking on Twitter than anything.

Robert didn't even train him that much and Donaire isn't even travelling to Oxnard as far as I saw.

His main trainer was someone I didn't even know.

Like many fans, Rigo was overlooked hard. Mainly because he had a lack of experience.

It doesn't excuse Doanire for the loss, it was a big loss. However I feel that he didn't take Rigo on as he should, and that's train as a challenger.

This time around, he is hungry and wants a rematch. No one should hate on that. However some of Rigo fans are.

When someone doesn't want a avenge a loss, they get hated, when they do, they are hated.

I'm sure you were in on some of the threads leading up to the fight...months before the fight. There are guys here from all over the world. They all knew about Rigo. In a pretty good poll on this site, Donaire was favored to win by a margin of 60/40. Does that sound like Guillermo was overlooked by the fans? If us keyboard warriors knew about Rigo's chances, what do you think professionals with an actual stake in the fight thought?

I'm certain Donaire will put every fiber of his being into a rematch. I welcome it. When this fight happens, and it will, look me up. I'll bet you all your points.

Loved the first fight and would be in favor of these two squaring off again.

The problem is that, as others have mentioned, I too believe this is a continuing damage control effort by Nonito. If he is being real, and strictly as a competitor he should be, then my apologies Mr. Donaire. Yet something tells me that a potential future dip in financial opportunities resulting from a second high visibility loss to the same man is really what is being weighed here. Not that it shouldn't be as i understand that this is a business-first, sport-second environment.

I seem to recall Nonito on multiple occasions describing how the opposition needs to excite
him in order for him to train and perform at his best. News flash: He has found that opponent. If he really wants the rematch I believe it gets done despite him being the one that lost the fight. Don't need to hear about it as the saying goes actions are louder than words. If the fight comes off we'll know the truth.

Rigo did make him look bad, and the style is bad for Donaire, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have a chance, Donaire is still the biggest threat to Rigo and by the looks of it, he's the only one willing to fight him.

Well when Donaire says Rigo is untested, that alone shows you he did not see Rigo as a big threat.

Only Donaire knows for sure, does he really want to try to make 122 again? Probably not a good idea.

I wouldn't want to see it TBH. There is nothing to suggest Donaire could reverse the result.

Rigo decisively won the fight in my books. Plus Rigo was more cautious than usual due to the calibre of his opponent, thus making the mid rounds a bit boring.
