I still don't know whether or not to believe Donaire's stuff about not really studying Rigo in the lead-up to the fight. Was he just trying to save face or was he really that deluded?

Donaire will probably be more focused now that he lost and his ego is back down to earth.

I find it very hard to believe that a professional fighter, a top fighter at that, didn't study tape of a two-time Olympic champion and amateur legend. I don't doubt that Donaire underestimated Rigo, but he's just reaching for excuses. There will be none to give after Guillermo beats him again in the rematch.

Donaire didn't study Rigo. Well I believe it.

He barely knew Rigo a year a go.

I mean Robert Garcia doesn't seem to really study and often the sparring partners are not brought in. He just uses whoever is a regular there.

Donaire at the time of Rigo was fighter of the year and most likely lost focus when you get something like that.

Would like to see the rematch just so Rigo can school him again....

Donaire should just forget about him and move up to featherweight.

Rigo is to donaire, what junior jones was to barrera, vernon forrest was to mosely, etc

I think Rigondeaux STOPS Donaire in a rematch! Donaire is a very good boxer but he couldn't make any adjustments during that fight to figure out how to get to Rigondeaux. The knock down only happened because Rigondeaux let his Guard down and was look for the ref to break but the ref never stepped in and he got caught with a nice punch. While Rigondeaux I think in a rematch would come more for the kill because he already knows Donaire's Strengths and Weaknesses

He probably would have stopped Donaire in the first match had he not become Hesitant to throw punches because he was getting Countered so much.
