I think you're putting too much weight on his undefeated record. He has three pretty good wins: Dawson (drained), Froch & Kessler. Aside from Dawson, the other two are severely limited and unathletic fighters, and the third was a shell of his former self.
Marquez's record is more of a reflection of boxing politics than his actual wins/losses. He won at least 2-3 of the his fights against Pacquiao even if he didn't receive the actual decision. Furthermore, he did not lose to Chris John IMO.
Why does it even matter that he's hit the canvas? The only reason he changed his style was to become more marketable, and that is why he gets knocked down. Ward needs to take note and try and make more exciting fights by fighting more like Marquez. He's not mayweather. There's a reason he can only fill an arena in Oakland and no where else. He's a top 3 p4p fighter but gets paid garbage. There's also a reason for that.
