I am glad Lara is speaking out about Schaeffer's comments because I thought at the time they were so outrageous and reprehensible that it must be some kind of mistake.

For Schaeffer to downplay Lara like that on the heels of a hard fought victory is disgraceful for someone in his line of work and in my opinion it borders on criminal and should give Lara grounds to terminate their partnership if he chooses.

A promoter should (and I assuming would) have a responsibility to act in a way that is in the best interest of his fighter and partner. Schaeffer's position in boxing, combined with his comments, can potentially harm Lara's ability to get fights and cost him money over both short and long term.

It boggles my mind that he said what he did. Especially given he has a background as a shrewd businessman first and a boxing guy second.

I've always like Lara. I'm glad to see him continue to win, but would like to see him get a title shot already. Too bad Cotto is title-less. Wow, you all are delusional. You make statements as if Lara were the only boxer in history to come back from repeated knockdowns to win a fight by stoppage. Angulo was not thumbed in the eye from what I can see. He just took too many hard shots to that orbital bone, so much that he ended up quitting. You simply can not block punches with your face for 12 rounds (or any amount of rounds for that matter).
