Yvon Michel, promoter of newly crowned light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson, advised BoxingScene.com/CSNBayArea.com that in the event a fight with Bernard Hopkins cannot be made, that he would be willing to do a two-fight deal with super middleweight king Andre Ward.

Stevenson (21-1, 18 KOs) stunned the boxing world with a one-round knockout of reigning 175-pound boss Chad Dawson (31-3, 17 KOs) last Saturday in front of his hometown fans of Montreal.

“Adonis’s first wish would be to fight Bernard Hopkins, and if that’s not feasible to make that fight, his second wish would be to fight Andre Ward,” Michel said. “Everyone is aware Ward is looking for an opponent that he hasn’t fought. If I was BHop I'd take it. That'll be his chance to become lineal champ again. Might just put him on the P4P list too.

Ward-Stevenson shouldn't happen at 168 regardless if Stevenson wants it at that weight. Just like Ward-Dawson, Ward will no credit if he beats Stevenson at 168 even though Stevenson has no problem with that weight.

How is that even comparable? Stevenson just came from 168. Dawson hadn't been at 168 in like 6 years.

Same thing was said about Dawson.. lol!! ward outboxes him easily.. too bad he's the one that thinks he's on top of the world (Oakland)... refuses to travel and move up.. so there!

No it wasn't. A lot of the people on here knew what Dawson was gonna show up. Its a no brainer after the beating he took vs Ward.
