Man, you know there's more to technique than being a slick fighter. Lucas is a puncher, and has very good technique for a puncher! He's not just a slugger like a Mayorga. Technically he throws his punches extremely well, cuts off the ring, has good inside game and and a good body attack.

I like Danny, he has good power and he has a great left hook when he doesn't start throwing looping punches (But Zab took that away, something he couldn't do against Matthysse). But other than that what does he have? Poor footwork, slow hands, poor defense, not consistent with the jab. I just don't see anything that is A+ with him...

Now I know your a PR fan boy, but Matthysse DID handle Zab better than Danny, and he also whooped Devon but your right he didn't get the win. Just like Ashley Theophane made Danny look amateurish and didn't get the W

He is not overhyped at all. He is a damn good all around fighter with great punching power and nobody has even staggered him in a fight. You just have him way underrated and Garcia way overrated. All the organizations that rate fighters have him #1 for a reason and the reason is he is the best and he has done the most. He KOs guys like Peterson with ease while Danny struggles with Morales. Danny is the one who won't sign the contract. If he does we will see who is overhyped. I will have cash on Lucas.

Judging how some posters speak of him, I think he's succeeded to a degree.

A lot of people either cannot or refuse to acknowledge the difference between a fan and nuthugger.

What's hilarious is that the Garcia fan boys who keep calling Lucas a hypejob are the same ones who will say Garcia is the greatest fighter who ever lived in the unlikely event he beat Lucas. (Doesn't even seem likely he'll fight him for that matter).

How are people really talking about him, though? 90% of what Matthysse fans say is that he is going to beat the crap out of Danny Garcia. What exactly is wrong with that?

It's not like most of us say he's going to beat Mayweather or that he's the greatest ever or something. Just that he's the best at 140 and will beat the crap out of Garcia.
