I get them all free and I'm considering NOT watching boxing anymore as I did for many years! To sell Hopkins, Gamboa, Dawson as headliners is a joke!
These boys don't come to fight, their boring as hell and if their opponents don't come to them punching it becomes a real stinker!
Atleast Broner and Rios come to fight and theres no doubt that their will be action to see! The excuse that Hopkins and Dawson are boxings elite boxers is BS!! When Dawson needs to box and stands to fight and when Hopkins can stand and fight he keeps on sliding down the ropes! BORING!!!! BUT!! they get away with it because the newer generation fans never saw great boxers who came to fight so they think that these "runners" are boxing!!!
Sure miss Hagler, Arguello, Hearns, Evander in their primes, no running and picking your spots!

The big fight with a 23 year old kid fighting another non combative veteran that the fans think is a great match up is a joke! If Canelo beats Mayweather it will be because Floyd tripped! I doubt time is getting to Floyd, hell he has no wear on him he's been running (fighting) for years now!!! Ray.

The current crop of fans obsession with pay per view numbers and TV ratings is a joke. Far more time is spent on these subjects than talking about anything to do with boxing.

This goes back to better programming not boxing. Like others mentioned sports fans who have HBo for programming will just tune in cause they sports fans not really boxing fans.

Rome wasnt built in a day but like i said i have both so im happy

If Showtime can keep showing better fights, people who have more than a casual interest in boxing will have to get Showtime, because it's no longer on HBO, a channel they probably already have. Until more people who used to watch boxing on HBO realise the quality fights are on showtime and order that too, HBO will nearly always have higher numbers.

And this is a sad fact. It's the only reason some can even say with a straight face hbo is better. Because they've owned the ppv market for years. Even though 1 of the greatest fights in history, Corrales-Castillo one was fought on regular showtime.

This is really bizarre . . . It all seemed to get really important after Mayweather vs Delahoya . . . It seems a weird argument to me: "My boxer has more drawing power than yours" . . .

Who knows . . . I like being informed of the numbers because it helps me gauge if boxing is on the rise, the decline, or treading . . . But I don't use it as an argument to say one guy is better than another...

Don't include B-Hop in your rant. The fact is that every time Hop steps into the ring from here on out, there is a potential for history to be made. No other fighter currently can claim that.

I agree to a point... But how many people just stream or ******* showtime fights, but have HBO subscriptions for the regular programming?

I actually usually hate this subject too but ever since the tr\hbo and gbp\showtime divide it interests me for some reason in regards to head to head numbers.
