Exactly this. If he beats Chaves convincingly, ya'll better be hyping him up like how Matthysse was hyped up after his "loss" to Judah.

This is a tough fight, but Thurman should be able to pass with flying colors, only because he really is the truth.

Wow! Hold your horses ther cowboy! He hardly won his last fight against a 37 year old Jan Zaveck past his prime, who was never much of boxer during his prime anyway.
I say that was his first real test and sorry man, he failed to impress anyone even against a B class 37 year old fighter who he should have KOed with certain ease, had he been the KO machine the previous build up fights suggested.
Now against Chaves he's fighting a young undefeated fighter who hasnt been spoon fed dummies to build him up and has won most of them by KO.
I dont see Thurman winning but if he does he's on the right track to becoming a prime fighter in spite of his crappy first impression with Zaveck. Yet a Matthysse he's most deffinitely not and even if he beats Chaves he still has a long way to go.

LMFAO. He "barely" beat!? What fight were you watching? He won damn near every round! The only criticism you could've given him was not KO'ing the guy for goodness sake.

SMDH, fake fan post backfire FerFAL.

That fight proved exactly why he was getting hyped up, and proved that he is the real deal. Berto's hoe ass gassed out, and was on his way of getting KTFO against Zaveck. Thurman completely routes the guy.

If he destroys Chaves or beats him convincingly, dude is without a shadow of a doubt the real deal.

        SMDH, YOU FAIL.

FerFal, if the Zaveck fight didn't impress you, you don't know **** about boxing. Real talk. The guy had every opportunity to bring his work rate down, and succumb to Zaveck's constant pressure. Lesser fighters would've easily folded to Zaveck, but Thurman used angles, slid out, made Zaveck reset, and kept pasting his ass. What Thurman showed in that fight was craft, ability to fight through pressure, stamina, and ring smarts.

Berto's hoe ass was on his way to succumbing to the pressure and getting KO'd. Thurman showed a level of skill and work rate in there that suggests he's here to stay, and not many if any WWs will want to fight the guy.

Get yo trollin ass outta here.

FerFAL,so your hate for Thurman stems from him disrespecting Paulie Malignaggi? Do you have any idea who your defending? Paulie is and has always been the most trash talking, disrespectful loud mouth the sport of boxing has ever seen. Paulie? haha...lol try again..haha

I believe Thurman will make his true mark at 154, might win a ABC title at 147 but he is more than big enough for 154, hes a huge WW.

The Chaves fight is a fight we might learn if he can take a power shot as Chaves looks like he can **** to me.

I've liked what i have seen so far from one time but its a bit hard to judge as he hasn't exactly fought high level op yet but he is getting there as each fight seems to be getting tougher. I think we will know more after this fight.

I'm leaning toward One time in this fight, fought the better op in Zaveck and seems more skilled to me, you never know though Chaves might surprise everyone land a KO shot. With 2 ****ers in there you just never know.

Funny, didn't Bumto stop Zaveck in 5 rounds? Thurman wasn't even close to stopping Zaveck even after 12 rounds and kept getting caught; I thought he looked like a very raw fighter and his power is definitely overated. The funny thing is Jan Zaveck was a soft handed C/D level fighter.

Ok, calm down girls, I didnt mean to insult your cornrow haired bich of a boyfriend. Jesus fknChrist people.
No, I dont think the Zaveck was a statement as it should have been. Zaveck is hardly a mediocre fighter and Thurman got his face tuned up by him. A younger Zaveck, still mediocre, or an above average fighter would have put Thurman to sleep. So far he's not proven to be the next big thing in boxing guys, just what I see so far. He beats Chaves, then he continues to KO top fighters then sure. So far what we've seen isnt impressive by any means.
That's not trolling, that's just what it is.

Thurman looks fast, undefeated. 19 wins out of 20. 18 by KO. Thurman sounds like a big mouth douche.
Chaves has 22 wins out of 22 fights, 18 by KO. From Argentina, very hard puncher.
I'll go with Chaves. Even if Thurman could win this one, it seems to me that Chaves hits harder, is generally tougher and had more experience.

I know Thurman, seen him many times at boxing shows. He's a very good guy, very humble and intelligent and realistic about what he is.

It's all an act, the talking and everything.

Funny, no he didn't stop Zaveck. Did you even watch the fight???

The fight got stopped due to cuts. Berto was fading badly, and looked ripe for the picking. Berto was getting hit with crazy shots by Zaveck. Zaveck landed like 2-3 meaningful shots against Thurman in all 12 rounds.

You're one of those Boxrec warriors huh?
