Andre Ward was mentioning certain flaws in Gamboa's demeanor in the ring. Ward stated Gamboa goes in without a gameplan, to me that translates more in lack of quality trainer.
Yuri's current trainer, his dad, Carlos Gamboa is not doing him any good imo.

I have been saying this all along and he needs to bring back salas. problem is word on the street is he doesnt want to pay for a trainer and thats why he has his dad instead who doesn't know **** ..... huge mistake

The hype was justifiably huge when Gamboa destroyed Solis, but he's been just "meh" since. The Juanma losses definitely hurt him as well, that fight with an undefeated Lopez could have made Yuriorkis into a household name.

Gamboa is what he is: a gifted athlete masquerading as a boxer. He has no ring craft, no real technique, and those same flaws that existed at the start of his pro career are still there now.

I'm officially off the Gamboa band wagon. That was a boring performance and fight. 50 Cent should get out the fight game if that's all his fighters have to offer.

50 Cent is a bad promoter. Why put a fighter under you with your music and make every fight a 50 Cent promo rather than a Gamboa promo. 50 needs to get out of the spotlight and allow Gamboa to be him. Anyways that card on HBO last night was just awful.

I don't think the card was awful. It was only two fights which looked legit on paper. Gamboa's fight ****** only because Perez didn't throw enough right hands or at all to make it interesting.
