You can put a great fighter in any combat sport and they should be able to hold their own if not excel.

People don't understand that Silva has great stand up by mma standards but he won't beat any top boxer or K-1 or Muay Thai guy in there on field. Now I know Roy Jones is way passed it but way too many people are writing him off against Silva. I think its competitive.

I'm pretty sure Silva has a loss in pro boxing against a guy nowhere near Jones' level

Why didn't anyone from UFC call out to Roy when he was in his prime? Or why don't they call on a young boxer in his prime.

Some of yall are delusional and ignorant... As old as RJJ may be, the boxing essentials and science is still deep within him... And as talented and fast the spider may be, he has no business in a boxing ring... IMHO RJJ would teach him a real boxing lesson... until about the 8th round when he gases out and sylva lays him down, not bcs hes a superior fighter but bcs hes in a better shape and more athletic at this point in his life

You're right on UFC fighters callin out old worn out fighters but in this case Silva has been wanting to fight Roy Jones for years and Dana White said he would do everything in his power to stop that fight from happening. He's a piece of s hit if he lets it go thru now tho
