I mention De La Hoya because to be great you have to pass the test of time and I know it hasn't been that long since he last fought but in my opinion I feel he will pass that test. He was a gold medalist and at one point a true pound for pound champion. I don't care too much for the belts because everyone knows how corrupt they are.

To be fair the most memorable Mexican boxers didn't appear till the mid 80's. Not to mention any boxers from the 70's and older are automatically held in higher regard than any modern boxer.
