To be an ATG you must beat somebody of the same standing. Wlad hasn't beat any Elite/HOF level fighters.

You cant dominate a weak division and earn ATG status by default.

You dont't earn ATG status by winning fantasy h2h match-ups.

Mental weakness and the inability hold up under pressure.

No inside fighting ability and minimal use of combinations.

3 knock outs to very average fighters.

Fighting the worst opponents in the division in the late stages of his carrer.

    No standout/memorable moments.

Over emphasis on achievements rather than skill.

    .

A great fighter for his time and certainly a HOF but there's no way he is an ATG.

There is the opportunity to impove his legacy against the decent young HW's that are emerging but he will have to take big risks.

A fight with Pienata after Wach is another step down the legacy ladder.
I get what you mean. wlad is a 1st ballot hof'er given he's dominated the division for a while and has beaten everyone who will fight him.

But I don't hold him in the same respect I do the truly great heavyweight champions because he hasn't beaten anyone of real substance.

the same ones everyone posts. I dont consider wlad to one of the great hwt's. he isnt respected as ali or louis, he isnt feared like tyson or foreman, he has no win on the level of frazier, lennox, holyfield or even lower tier hwt's like a rid**** bowe or ken norton.

if this were a video game yeah I might use him as a fighter because of his attributes and how I can employ them.

his placement is probably around top 15. he will sneak top 10 if he keeps up his dominance. and yes, top 10 atg in any weight is a super legendary ATG.

how canhe be top 10 if he hasn't defeated an opponent thats in the top 20? is it all beacuse of size and length of title reign?

                  Fucking hell.

Can't people differentiate between accomplishments and level at which they fought?

Yea, so Wlad has made a load of defences and holds most of the belts, that don't matter if you've got shit opposition. Honestly, all you need to do is draw up 5 of Wlad's best wins and compare them against champions in previous eras who held a belt for a 1/5th of the time any Klitschko has.

What makes a great champion is his opposition.

he's honestly about as good as sven ottke. both guys have a lot of title defenses against bums, both guys didnt fight the best guy during their reign(calzaghe, vitali) oh yea but wlad got flattened 3 times. advantage iron chinned ottke.

Ok so Marciano, Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson are not ATGs...

Klitschko fought and beat the best possible opponents and has never ducked anyone, it's not his fault that the rest of that division is shiet..

Wlad is already ATG. Deal with it
