Lucas Mathyse or GGG: Who is Better

It seems that Lucas Mathyse and GGG are getting some serious hype on NSB.


Just wondering who you think is better.

Lucas has fought better competiton in Judah, Alexander, Peterson, Soto, and both losses are highly controversal


GGG may be better technically but he hasnt faced top guys in his weight class yet.. He does have a great amateur background and was silver medalist in the olympics...

I hate this thread...both GGG and Matthysse are G's and I refuse to compare them. Two of the most feared guys in their division.

Lucas will still have the better resume as he has the competition to do it. I do think they have similar styles with GGG being a little more polished.

I actually think Lucas tendencies to sometimes get a bit wild is actually a strength.

I think you'd be able to give a better assessment once GGG has fought somebody who isn't going to be terrified of him and that guy will be Macklin.
Proksa, Rosado, Ishida whilst they all showed heart to me they looked/fought scared and gave him too much respect.

Hard to judge GGG as he hasn't really fought any top notch level comp. We'll get a better gauge after he faces Macklin but even then he needs to fight better opposition.

At this stage of the game Lucas is streaks ahead IMO.

Yeah I know, I was just mildly joking because these are two of my favorite fighters. I think Matthysse will have more opportunities in his career and will ultimately have the better resume because of it. I'm happy that Lucas is getting getting a big fight with Danny though, that'll really catapult him. I just wish Martinez and Quillin would stop ducking GGG.

Golovkin looks to be the more polished and controlled fighter. We'll see if he still looks that way as his competition increases.

Both are with some serious power, but GGG is more skillful IMO.
