Lucas Mathyse or GGG: Who is Better

Mathysse has wasted some of his best opportunities to get noticed, GGG wont do the same

I think TS wanted to know who's the better boxer, not who,as of right now, has the better resume or who's more accomplished. For me the better fighter of the two is GGG, he looks to be more polished, he throws very good combos plus he cuts off the ring like no one in the game right now. But I love Matthysse too though

Just call me a sucker for hype. Actually I go by what I see. My three favorite young fighters are Canelo, Lucas and GGG. I think Lucas and GGG. are both equally great and I would pick them to beat any fighter their weight. Lucas has had more wins over high rated fighters and he has two losses that should be wins.

golovkin has far superior pedigree....

as far as punching power.... mathysse has shown his power against his divisions elite.... and golovkin has yet to do that....

i'm not that impressed by golovkin tbh....

as for mathysse, the proof is in the pudding.... he could definitely refine his style, but he's an intelligent fighter who hits hard.....

GGG is the more skilled fighter, but Lucas might have even heavier hands P4P. He's got spooky power. And he's no slouch in the skill department either.

I'd pick GGG as the slightly better all-arounder, but they're both so good and both are arguably the most exciting rising stars in boxing at the moment. I can't wait to see what GGG can do against Macklin, that'll give us more to go on.

Right now I would have to say Lucas. His boxing ability is underrated and to me, GGG looks like he will be exposed by a hard puncher who is not afraid of his reputation. On a side note, please stop saying Lucas was robbed twice. He did NOT beat Judah and I believe he could have if his team didn't keep telling him to wait until Judah tires. No arguing about Alexander being a mild robbery but I say right now Lucas is better.

I hate this thread...both GGG and Matthysse are G's and I refuse to compare them. Two of the most feared guys in their division.

GGG has better technique and is more controlled in his overall approach. Matthysse is P4P a heavier puncher with more obvious explosiveness. Both have good footwork and set their money shots up well. Both are sick body punchers.

If a world existed where prime versions of each could meet it would be an awesome spectacle.
