This is why fighters who think like Maidana will never beat a Floyd Mayweather. It's not about how hard you hit (see Corrales vs Mayweather) or how much bigger you are (see Ray Leonard vs Lalonde). Good skill and technique trumps, size and power.

It is partly true however Mayweather is one of the three most skill full boxers in the game and no one around his weight class will out box him. Being bigger, stronger and harder hitting therefore is the only way to beat him.

Has there been any comments form him or his team since the Peterson fight. Its so strange that they've said nothing. I mean, Sept 7th is not that far away.

Maidana would rather not fight Matthysse

I don't know if you have noticed but these two guys fight for Argentina. In the Khan-Maidana fight, Maidana brought in a banner that read "Las Malvinas son Argentinas" ( The Falklands are Argentinian ) referring to the two century old dispute over the islands between the UK and Argentina. They loved Maidana in Argentina for doing this. Everytime Matthysse wins a fight he screams the name of his country into the Showtime mike. Argentina is a small country compared to the US. In their minds they represent Argentina first and secondly their own interests. Promoters are salivating at the idea of staging a bout between these two but I applaud them for their noble attitude. In the past, they fought for no money at all, so they would obviously fight if offered a good purse but it's obvious that they would rather not since in their minds , the more fighters represent Argentina, the better.
