Immediate rematches are generally a bad idea, especially when the first fight was such a conclusive and decisive win. If Donaire's shoulder was that bad, he should have brought it up before the fight was signed and sorted it out before fighting Rigondeaux.
Dunno who that is or what movie that is but that's actually a great saying.

lmao
I thought you might not get the reference, but I hoped you would. "The Honeymooners" was a fifties comedy TV show starring Jackie Gleason. The definition of classic television. Right up there with "I Love Lucy." The reruns were a NYC staple for many years, on late night TV. (They still run.) Anyone growing up in NYC in the last few decades would know the show, but they were broadcast all over the country (probably in different countries, too). If you ever have the time, check out one or two episodes on Netflix.

No scuses, bruh.
I don't doubt that Donaire had some kind of shoulder issue before the fight. But, as you infer, Nonito should've addressed the problem before the fight, not bring it up as an excuse afterwards. Some more questions: Why wasn't the shoulder issue a problem during Donaire's four-fight FOTY run in 2012? Why was Nonito so reluctant to throw punches with either arm? (It's not like he was favoring a particular shoulder.)
I've had chronic rotator cuff problems for years (probably the same condition Donaire claims). It can be troublesome, and can range anywhere from inconsequential to annoying to incapacitating. My guess is that Nonito had been irritated by the problem for some time, but it obviously didn't stop him from training or knocking people the fuck out. His decision to bring this heretofore unheard-of injury to light after being taken to school is poor timing at best.
ummmm wtf for?that ***ing fraud hype job of filipines got schooled just like his countryman pacroid, rigo schooled him in a pintch shutout, face it filipine boxing is dead for good lmao
After that fight I think Rigo will always beat him , and I thought Donaire would have won their fight , Rigo is so hard to beat if you cant land that bomb .
Man you'll keep gloating about this ****ing fight 10 years from now.
Probably longer than that. lol
It was an enormous fight for Cuban boxing. Mexican fans still bring up Sanchez-Gomez decades later. Although there is no Cuban-Filipino rivalry, the win by itself was monumental for Cuban boxing fans. In one night, with one fight, the emissary of the Cuban school of boxing, Guillermo Rigondeaux, redeemed us after years of being relegated to amateur competition. No more, no less. There will be other big fights for us, but this one is special because it's the first after over a half-century. It doesn't get much bigger than that.
