      lmao

I thought you might not get the reference, but I hoped you would. "The Honeymooners" was a fifties comedy TV show starring Jackie Gleason. The definition of classic television. Right up there with "I Love Lucy." The reruns were a NYC staple for many years, on late night TV. (They still run.) Anyone growing up in NYC in the last few decades would know the show, but they were broadcast all over the country (probably in different countries, too). If you ever have the time, check out one or two episodes on Netflix.
I get the saying and I've heard it before. Definitely not one of those sayings you hear often but it's a great saying.

I wasn't gloating about anything. I just found it funny how quick the tables turned.

        "Who's Rigo?"
        "He doesnt deserve a fight"

Then all of the sudden Donaire was the one asking for a rematch at 126 or people saying he doesn't deserve one YET.

I didn't sense any gloating. It's actually quite funny. I found the same ironic humor in it. All the talk about Rigo not being "worthy" before the fight...now the shoe's on the other foot. I love it.

Exactly why I pointed it out. The guy swears I'm still nutting over the victory. He hasn't realized the new flavor of the month is Matthysse.

It was an enormous fight for Cuban boxing. Mexican fans still bring up Sanchez-Gomez decades later. Although there is no Cuban-Filipino rivalry, the win by itself was monumental for Cuban boxing fans. In one night, with one fight, the emissary of the Cuban school of boxing, Guillermo Rigondeaux, redeemed us after years of being relegated to amateur competition. No more, no less. There will be other big fights for us, but this one is special because it's the first after over a half-century. It doesn't get much bigger than that.
Yeah I understand how big it was, you finally got your top P4P guy so of course you're gonna enjoy it. I was just playing because some dudes sound like they're still dancing the merengue over this win lol.

Yeah I got you, I was just messing with you.

              Now go ride Matthysse.

Really!!! I honestly don't think you believe that. A 122 pound sleepiao who only had a left hand and rushed in would have gotten humiliated and stopped. Come on bro

Salsa not merengue. Will do till the next flavor comes out.

Not gonna lie. I'm still high over it. I've been waiting for this for a long, long time. I'm not gonna bring it up every two minutes, but I'm still savoring the moment. I was there...screaming like a school kid. lol

But Rigondeaux only had 11 pro fights. Surely a great champion like "The Great Nonito Donaire" could have done better.

He said the shoulder had been troubling in his past few fights. How did he do in those fights?

There's also a video out there where Garcia says he doesn't need to train Donaire because he knows what to do already. I could be wrong but he also didn't "train" Donaire for Nishioka. Pretty sure I heard it in a vid so I will search for it.
