See above, same story. America is Ward's backyard. The logic works when you (meaning Americans in general, not you personally) want to criticise British fighters for fighting in their backyard, so why should it be any different the other way round.

And to think, with all the hating on Floyd for being such a hypocritical douchebag, god forbid most of the Americans on here turn out to be exactly the same...
No one outside Oakland knows who Andre Ward even is. Do people in the UK outside of Nottingham know who Froch is? The fight against Kessler suggests they do and then some.

Ward's backyard is Oakland. Las Vegas and Atlantic City aren't even remotely close to friendly, backyard cities for him. That's why he doesn't fight leave Oakland except for certain opponents, if he tried fighting average fighters in either of those cities, no one would show up. He can only make money against guys like Green or Bika if he's fighting in Oakland.

Ward a joke? The only thing that is a joke is your ridiculous comment.

Yes, Ward is a joke. He's undoubtedly the best at 168, a fabulous technician, a pretty nice guy, an undefeated champion, but he struggles to sell more than 5000 tickets in his hometown. Are you really telling me that's not a joke?

          Great post.

Pretty funny how some American posters on NSB make out that the UK is the robbery capital of world boxing, too.

However, I will chalk it up to the same ignorance of American geography that every European poster also displays on this forum.
Ha this is f**king priceless. I love Americans but less than 50% of them own a passport, never mind have any grasp of World Geography.

On holiday in Domincan recently I was asked by some Americans 1) Had I met the princess and 2) was the UK next to Germany. And these were intelligent professionals, not illiterate rednecks.

Have a look around you before you call people ignorant.

What bothers me about this is that he's saying he thinks they should both have an interim fight (or at least that he should have one) and then fight in a year. After the constant "Floyd/Pac, Pavlik/Abraham, Lopez/Gamboa will happen but just not straight away" bullshit that's no longer a guarantee of a fight happening. Why take an interim fight? Ward may have at least some ring rust if they fight each other next and that benefits Froch's chances.

They are better options for each other than anyone else right now. Froch not pushing for a Ward rematch after everything that has been said would be a shame. A fight with Groves, Kessler, DeGale, Cleverley etc. will still be there after he fights Ward, win or lose. Several British boxers have remained popular after losses. I think his reputation takes a hit if he doesn't try for the rematch sooner rather than later.

This makes absolutely no sense. It doesn't matter if they're in Disney Land, Froch loses this fight. There is no way Carl can win, Andre is 9 times the fighter that Carl is. The first fight was a shut out, why would there be cause for a rematch? Carl needs to move on, and Andre needs to move up. He's clearly the best fighter at 168, he knocked out the top guy at 175 and everyone else in that division are no where near Dawson. Why is Froch this thirsty for another beating? I like Carl, I really do, but he's gotta move on. And attacking Ward's style of fighting won't help his. I honestly would much rather watch Ward than Carl. But, whatever, If this rematch takes place, I expect another 12-0 drubbing, and possibly a stoppage.

Why do you guys keep talking about ticket sells and who's a draw? Who gives a sh%%. Let them fight in Scotland, that's fair right. Not in Oakland not in Nottingham. On one hand you guys bash Floyd for talking about $, then on the other hand you bash Ward for not selling. I'm a boxing fan first and foremost, I wouldn't care if they fought for peanuts in front of 10 people. I just want to see the best face the best. You guys sound like fanboys to me.

                  I want to see @ 168
Ward,Kessler,Froch,Dirrell,Oos,Stieglitz,Bute,Chav ezJr,and Rodriguez all fight each other. I don't care about the negotiations just get it done.

2 judges scored the fight 115-113. Whether they were correct in their scoring or not doesn't change the fact that it was most definitely NOT 12-0.

No, actually, that wouldn't be fair in the eyes of Americans. Despite being a different country, they would still claim it to be Froch's backyard, then accuse me of being ignorant of their geography again, despite the fact that I probably know it better than they do.

It's mind-fuckingly atrocious to see that there is even the slightest, infinitesimal amount of excitement for a Ward-Froch II showdown. After the Brit gets embarassingly outclassed by the American, it's quite honestly bizarre to see any form of hype for a rematch.

What if Gatti secured some good wins after he was utterly facefucked by Mayweather. What if a Gatti-Mayweather II was going to be made, and pissface fans got excited about it? Granted, not the best analogy, but close fucking to it.
