I'm pretty sure Hearn told Froch to say he'll fight Ward anyplace anywhere, and Hearn will be the guy to backtrack those statements.

This article makes Froch look like a fool. He says he will go to Vegas because it's a different state with it's own commissioner.

Well so is New Jersey, where they fought the first time.

Only difference is that Las Vegas shares a border with California and is within driving distance for Ward fans. Unlike Atlantic City, a neutral venue, which requires a 5 hour plane ride from CA.

Froch's logic makes less than zero sense. However, I will chalk it up to the same ignorance of American geography that every European poster also displays on this forum.
I gotta admit.. Froch was probably talking out of his a$$ when they asked him this. But I think his desire to fight in Vegas is genuine.

True, but he will take it because he has no one else to fight.

Bottom line is that Froch wants to make the rematch happen. If Ward won't travel to the UK then he's prepared to go to Vegas and probably anywhere else in the States bar Oakland. That's all you need to take from this.

Why is Ward so keen to fight someone he already whooped then?

Tell the truth, he wants to get paid, so he needs this more and you know it. The man couldn't sell beer to a drunk, Froch dictates terms.

@Weebler II, Froch being willing to to go Stateside kinda reduces any leverage Hearn would have in negotiations. I still think the fight makes more money in the UK and therefore bigger profits for Hearn.

Actually the bottom line is that Froch SAYS that but has done nothing to PROVE it.

A neutral site fight against Kessler won't pull big bucks and Froch knows he got a fair shake in NJ but couldn't expect one in Germany or Denmark.

People act like Froch has all these options but he doesn't. Kessler won't come to the UK, Froch won't go to Denmark. They aren't draws outside of their home countries any more than Ward is a draw outside his home state.

I guess Froch could fight bums like Groves and Degale and get paid. David Haye and Amir Khan made good livings fleecing the British public. Maybe it's time Froch started robbing them too.

What's wrong with what I said? People say fighters are fighting in their backyard over in the UK all the time, despite the fight taking place in a completely different country, so why should this be any different? America is America, and Ward is American, so America is his backyard, end of story.

See above, same story. America is Ward's backyard. The logic works when you (meaning Americans in general, not you personally) want to criticise British fighters for fighting in their backyard, so why should it be any different the other way round.

And to think, with all the hating on Floyd for being such a hypocritical douchebag, god forbid most of the Americans on here turn out to be exactly the same...

Not true Ward will always be able to sell in Oakland. Its not the national stage but he can make a nice living doing it. You add that to working ringside with HBO Ward isnt starving or desperate.

And therein lies the problem, "in Oakland". Nobody outside of Oakland gives a shit, that's why his ticket sales are truly pathetic in comparison to other undefeated world champions.

All the UK fans would GLADLY travel to the Vegas to cheer on Froch. With that being said......I want the fight in the UK.
