Morales called it and the "continued pace" is what Castillo, De La Hoya, and Cotto all successfully employed against Mayweather in terms of appearances. It does not seem at all likely Alvarez is going to keep his arms moving as much as he'll need to. Not even close.

He talking about the flaws in both fighters of what he sees as a fighter, where he see floyd slap punches with are just mean to distract you. He knows that why floyd throws it and thats why he says are a great nuisance, nuisance which means "bothers you", so if you let yourself get bother by the non commited punches you just open yourself up for the commited punches.
You sound like a dumbass, talking about Morales like he doesnt know what he talking about lol.
PS: you do know that this is Translated from English to Spanish, ever heard the term lost in translation. IDIOT!Last edited by Godsfly; 05-31-2013, 09:59 PM.Comment

lol I thought the same thing. If Floyd throws slapping punches, then why aren't fighters walking through them to land their big shots.Comment

"He throws many slapping punches, simply with speed and not with any real technique"
Being able to left hook off of jab and leading with a left hook, just to name a few, is indeed throwing "without any real technique". Sure Erik, sure. Sip some more tequila and watch the sunrise...
He doesn't put his entire body/weight into most of his accurate power punches but he can still hurt you. He had Guerrero and Cotto in big trouble. Both fighters are known for their good punch resistance.Comment

I think I know what Morales is talking about, but Floyd is special in the sense that he knows how to pick his position. Those looping right hooks has been effective lately, but he has the angles and distance covered to do it. He still has the speed at 36 to add that punch into his arsenal. There were times when he didn't turn the left hook over against Guerrero, but with Guerrero posing absolutely no threat or defense for the right hand, it's no wonder his game was to land that right hand repeatedly.
I do see some new things in Floyd, even at this age, I know clinching is gonna become more frequent but I also noticed he's finishing the rounds a lot stronger, even emphasizing on banking in the early rounds, where as before it seems he didn't really used to care.Comment

You best believe everyone without an axe to grind with Canelo will be in his camp assisting. Do not expect this kid to walk in there with one simple battle plan..he showed recently he can adapt very well to what his opponent is doing.Comment

In regard's to Erik's comments, I think he's off when he said Floyd throws with no technique but not entirely. Floyd did throw some powerless pot shots vs The Ghost at times, but when he planted his feet, his punches were as technically sound, accurate and obviously powerful enough to bother Guerrero. But as a legend, I respect where he's coming from.Comment
