Comments Thread For: Ward's Trainer, Calzaghe Unite: Believe Froch Lost Mind

Virgil Hunter, the trainer for super middleweight king Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs), and retired British great Joe Calzaghe, are not always on the same page. But the two men are in agreement when it comes to certain statements that are being made by IBF/WBA “regular” champion Carl Froch. Both Calzaghe and Hunter believe the Nottingham fighter is significantly exaggerating the importance of his rematch victory over Mikkel Kessler from last Saturday night.

A few days after the victory, Froch proclaimed to the BBC that he was the best boxer in UK history, with only Lennox Lewis standing at his side. [Click Here To Read More]

Calzaghe seems more and more bitter everytime he talks about Froch.

Hunter is right about Kessler being past his best, but I don't agree that Ward beat the prime out of him. He's done a great job with Ward but he likes to pat himself on the back a hell of a lot.

Well said Hunter - I don't know who speaks the biggest tripe Froch or Khan - Froch thinking he can win the rematch with Ward saying Ward tires late on and saying his better than Calzaghe and Khan thinking his style beats Mayweather.

To be honest, Calzaghe is correct.

Carl Froch has definitely got the big head......he seems to not remember being basically out classed by Ward.

Calzaghe needs to be careful about baggin Froch over his resume, when he's a pretty easy target himself. He beat 6 former world champions, but then Froch has beaten at least 7.
Froch is cleary a bit over excited after his last fight though, he needs to clam down!

As for Hunter, well, this is the same dude who tried to hype up Khan's win over Diaz. I'm sick of hearing from this zen Suge Knight wannabe to be honest.

where was calzaghe's era of dominance? guess he forgets ottke was rated #1 for most of the time he was there. when you are overshadowed by sven ottke you are a fraud. beating lacy and kessler=weak ass era.

Lol! You're right! It wasn't, but sad part is they should be above this back and forth with Froch! They won, but they need Froch more than Froch needs them! Wards a class guy, he should inform his trainer to stop the back and forth and let this whole thing be! They are the best in the divison! Hands down! So what's the point of having to daily point out something Froch said

Calzaghes era of dominance was hiding in Britain fighting past there best fighters, Carl Froch has every right to say he should be held above Eubank snr and Nigel Benn!
                    Afterall who fought the best?
Then who tried to protect their 0?

Joe Calzaghe anger is burning up so much inside knowing that Carl Froch is right haha, this wouldn't annoy Joe if what Froch was saying was not the truth.
Well here's a though If Joe doesn't like it he can come out of retirement and figh Froch he's only 41 years old now!
This is the same man who was fine with fighting a 44year old Bernard Hopkins

For the record I don't think Calzaghe beat B-hop.
